Did you ever cry

Not that I can recall but I lose it every Holy Thursday when we sing “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom” and every Good Friday when “where you there when they crucified my lord?” Is sung. Certain hymns do it sometimes too.

Just thinking… sometimes the songs after Holy Communion pull on my heart strings. I choke up and can’t sing the words…

Do the words to song ever cause an emotional response for you?

We’re the same. Something is very special with the mass; at some point I start to tear up, but I always manage to fight it because I don’t want to attract attention.

Because you’re near the altar (as server) you must have sensed the divine energy coming from this holy celebration. Saints like St. Augustine, St. John Chrysostom and St. Bridget had attested to the presence of angels in the altar, either surrounding the priests or the Sanctuary; but I’d like to quote St. Bridget on this one:

“One day when I was assisting at the Holy Sacrifice, I saw an immense number of Holy Angels descend and gather around the altar, contemplating the priest. They sang heavenly canticles that ravished my heart; Heaven itself seemed to be contemplating the great Sacrifice. And yet we poor, blind, and miserable creatures assist at the Mass with little love, relish, and respect.”

Anyway, back to the topic, I also cry practically every time I watch the religious song “WE ARE THE REASON” on YouTube. Watching this often somehow transformed me since contemplating the passion of Jesus makes me want to love Him more and desire to sin less to avoid hurting my Savior.

Yep. One version of the Kyrie chant really affects me, because I think it’s beautiful and because this is the part I remember my past life, which was terribly sinful…

Oh Lord, have mercy…

Yes. Watchin_g Passion of the Christ_ was a turning point, too!

But we had to know that the supplice are a little exagerated. Too much blood to be true, according some critics. It’s art, and Mel Gibson like bloody scenes.

It happens that I cry during prayer, after the Eucharist, when watching or not watching religious art.
So giving all of His blood was “too much blood”? Because that is what Jesus gave for us. The movie shows a smidge of what He went through. Graphic and violent, yes. But more so the real Crucifixion.

Some songs yes, but I generally have to be a little inebriated 😂

It is hard not to cry over the pain and suffering men, women and children are experiencing all over the earth. Jesus came to earth and suffered a cruel death to undo what Adam and Ever brought about by their rejection of Jehovah God’s rulership. He will bring this about by means of his Kingdom which all Christians pray for in the Lord’s prayer. A study of the book of Daniel tells us that his kingdom was established in the heavens in 1914 and we are now living in the final days of Satan’s rule over the earth. For more information on 1914, just ask any Jehovah’s witness and they will study the Bible with you for free, as they did for me. So now it is time to rejoice that soon what we will experience what is written at Revelation 21: 3,4
Best wishes on your search for happiness.

I’ve read that this is a sign of the Holy Spirit, but it’s kind of embarrassing
I’ve had a similar experience. There are certain hymns and liturgies I know I will cry during, and then the ones I am surprised by.

When I was teaching it would happen while reading beautiful poetry or other passages. I was taught that squeezing between my thumb and forefinger would stop tears, supposedly because it’s an acupressure point. It might have just been placebo, but it does work when I’m very conspicuous.
