We had a no-nonsense homily from our priest. Not only did he speak out against abortion, but of other moral issues in our country which he correlated as part of the problem with such a lack of respect for life - domestic violence, premarital sex, pornography, homosexual practice and gay unions (not homosexuality itself - he made that clear as there are homosexuals who are not practicing, but are celibate), euthanasia, broken families, etc.
Then he focused on how we as Catholic Christians are too afraid about being politically correct in the real world - that in order to make change in the attitudes of respecting life, we have to be more brave about speaking out against moral evils.
We also had a second collection for respect life.
