But I do believe it is the point. Can you prove that they are/were deceived and you and the Apostles are/were not?
You’re not following me. I never attempted to prove that anyone was deceived or not deceived. I was trying to show that those who are not honestly deceived – but flat-out lying – would never go to a voluntary death for the lie.

You are injecting another point (that being whether a certain religion is true or false). But that was not my point, so I have no obligation to take on what we both know is a much larger discussion.

I follow your point, but it is indeed you who made the claim of deception. One which you cannot or will not prove. To the point “which religion is true or false” would answer the existence of God? If your religion is true it should be able to prove the existence of God? The very question PonderingJak asked.

In an apologetics class I went to, the priest tried to prove God’s existence by using the apostles as an example: many of them died and we’re executed in horrible ways, and that they wouldn’t die for something they didn’t truly believe in. But many different religions are also ready to die for their beliefs. So this doesn’t prove God’s existence. Can anyone give me solid proof?
God will if you let Him.👍

I must take issue with having words put into my mouth. Please read post #2, where I claimed that those who are lying would never die for a lie:
“Lots of people die for things that are not true. But nobody dies for what they KNOW to be untrue. That is why the testimony of the Apostles is so compelling. They definitely weren’t lying.”

You are trying to take my statement and drag in into a requirement for me to prove the existence of God. But I never attempted to prove the existence of God. I was demonstrating why the Apostles’ testimony is trustworthy. Stop twisting things!

.

Thorolfr then asked if believers in other religions who died for there faith were deceived. The answer is yes, but that’s not the point at all! They died for what they BELIEVED to be true. In that respect they are just as credible as the Apostles.
What evidence do you have that the believers of other religions were deceived? And the Apostles were not? Why are the Apostles more “trustworthy”?
I am aware of the point you are making, just in making your point you made claims that I don’t know to be true.
