Having recently solved the problem of Noahs Flood I now turn my attention to the dinosaur question. Where did they all go? Did humans live with dinosaurs?

Dinosaurs went extinct, along with numerous other species, from the meteor that struck the earth 65 million years ago in what is modern day Mexico.

I hope and pray that my lack of knowledge can be forgiven.

I do not know if these statements and questions are based on fact or hoax.

Here I go, in Texas there are footprints of dinosaurs that are said to be at least 60,000,000 years old.

How can anything last 60,000,000 years?

Again, I do not know if this is based on fact or hoax.

I am told that down in Mississippi a human body turns to dust in several years.

Again, how can footprints last 60,000,000 years in a river? (I know that rivers move and that geography changes.)

Please be gentle, I am here to learn.

This tread reflects the state od education in The United States of America. Even if you do not accept the main stream science with regard to the age of the earth and dinosaurs, you should at least have a basic understand of what it is about. With regard to 65 million year old dinosaur tracks, the process is call fossilization. Google it.

The Church leaves us open to how life formed on Earth. The scientific evidence of dinosaurs is patently clear and the Church has no conflict at all in this.

Keeping in mind that discussions of evolution are banned topics, as another poster noted, the last of the animals we call the dinosaurs suffered a mass extinction about 65 million years ago when an asteroid struck the earth, destroying the animals and much of their food sources. Only smaller animals were able to survive and continue. According to the geological and paleontological record, humanoid creatures were not present at that time.

The Church only requires the faithful to hold to the belief that humanity was founded on two specific people: Adam and Eve
. While the body of man may have developed over the eons by God’s initial design, He chose these two people and gave them something that no other hominids ever had: The special and divine creation of Adam and Eve’s rational souls.

A human body in Mississippi is made of organic material and decomposes unless something preserves it. A foot print is simply displaced mud that takes on the shape of an organic foot. It is not the organic and long gone foot you are seeing. It is the print left in clay, which hardens as it dries. Clay does not decompose, though it can weather away. Except for its age and the fact that it has escaped geological and weather effects, it’s no different than the muddy dog tracks in your back yard.

With as many animals and reptiles as there have been roaming the earth over many millenium, it should be no surprise that a few of their tracks have escaped obliteration. Sometimes tracks are covered in loose, protective deposits for most of their existence and then exposed to view by wind or water action. Since much of the Southwest was once under the ocean, some clay tracks have been compressed into much more durable rock such as you see in the famous red rocks of Sedona, AZ. Perhaps that is what you have in Texas.

Or alternatively:

The fossil record indicates that birds evolved within theropod dinosaurs during the Jurassic period. Some of them survived the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event, including the ancestors of all modern birds. Consequently, in modern classification systems, birds are considered a type of dinosaur—the only group which survived to the present day. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dinosaur

The Church does not pronounce on scientific topics. It is open to us to accept or reject evolution, gravity, plate tectonics, the germ theory of disease, etc.

One clade of dinosaurs survived to become present-day birds.

Genetic science proves from the number of alleles in the human genome that hominids evolving into Homo sapiens never dropped below 3,00-10,000 pairs

Noah’s flood is an element of Mesopotamiam cosmogonic myth.

Totally not interested in an evolution thread at the moment. I like everything you have posted here.

well maybe except for this, are we sure?

The scientific record supports only that the earliest primates existed only 2.4 million years ago…long after the age of the dinosaurs. The animals that survived the cataclysm of 65 million years ago included the first mammals. At the time, they were comparatively small, bred faster, were more adaptable, and used less food than other land animals. Likewise, early birds and smaller reptiles survived because of size or habitat (water, ability to fly and escape from harm) and also less food needs than the dinosaurs.

Despite any TV shows you may see, humans and dinosaurs never co-existed.
