It is believed that the television set has become the pulpit of choice for many lapsed Catholics.

Now, the television set has become the pulpit of choice for the Catholic Church as it tries to lure back the thousands of people who have stopped celebrating Mass and participating in parish life.

Starting Wednesday, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Manchester will launch a television advertisement campaign targeting those who have left the church as well as those outside the faith.

The campaign will run the entire 40-day Lenten season, from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday.

This is great to hear…especially for the Lenten season. I hope that the advertisements are able to attract many lapsed Catholic´s back to the fold.

God bless

They will be using, at least in part, the Catholics Come Home program. It has gotten some good buzz during the last couple years.

Here is the website for the program:
catholicscomehome.org/

The website has a variety of resources for former Catholics, current Catholics, and non-Catholics who are interested in learning.

Here are three of the television commercials used in the program:

“Epic”

“Movie”

I think this program will be an epic fail.

Why?

It’s WAY too much like the LSD’s. You are almost lead to believe that they will say Latter Day Saints…but then they say Catholic.

They ran the comercial at a church the other weekend. As I remarked to my friend they aren’t even as good as the mormons, since the Catholics don’t even offer a free bible.

I think you meant “LDS’s” although the notion that Church officials might be suffering from the effects of an LSD trip is more entertaining.
