Yes, because we know Jesus never referred toHis Father in Heaven, and His own gender is still unknown.
(Sarcasm)

thankfully we are Catholics and not Episcopalians, so we may continue to refer to God as He has revealed Himself to us.
of course, God is not confined to gender is such a way, but He has revealed Himself as He has.

As an aide - every time they do something like that, we usually pick up a few more Catholics. So there’s that…

I didn’t know the Episcopal Church had that sort of power! Wow! 😂

It’s just one diocese, which is bizarre… I didnt know they could promulgate stuff like this on a purely diocesean level.

If you’re only referring to one diocese, your headline is either misleading or disingenuous.

Read the link. The Diocese of Washington has submitted this to their General Convention, to be ruled on for all. That’s how it works in the Episcopal Church.

Reading the text of the resolution in the link, I don’t find it offensive. Not necessary or helpful, but not offensive, either.

The proposal is being submitted by one diocese, but its approval at the General Convention would make it binding to all. I thank God for the Pope and the magesterium when I see this stuff.

This is why I left the Episcopal church long ago! It just took me a long time to be Catholic!

It’s one diocesan convention that has voted to send a proposal to the church-wide General Convention. The proposal relates to any future revision of the Book of Common Prayer. If the resolution passes at the next General Convention, the Episcopal Church would be required to use “gender neutral” language in reference to God in the new edition of the church’s liturgical book.

Considering that this is the Episcopal Church, it’s kind of expected.

Years ago, some Presbyterians (PCUSA) did something similar where they allowed the option of changing the names of the Trinity, replacing the “masculine” Father, Son and Holy Spirit with “Mother, Child and Womb”. However, they still required everyone to be baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Like JonNC noted, I’m pretty sure God already has a preferred gender pronoun.

But let’s ditch what God wants and do what we want.

😱😰😨😵😖😧😭😤

What is happening to this world!?

Did the Episcopal Church ever look at Scripture!?

I’m reminded of “The Great Divorce” where an Anglican Bishop is in hell for apostasy…

Hate to sound like a conservative old, stick in the mud Catholic, but what on earth are these Episcopals doing?
They honestly think they are doing something Christian? I think they’ve lost the plot. I used to be a liberal but I never got that loosey goosey.
Time for people to wake up and stop trying to be so “modern” and “progressive”. We don’t have to please society.? Got that?
