Disabled and Unable to Walk and Work

Hi. I do not like to ask for help for myself but I really need to admit that I need intercessory prayers.

Due to a lumbar spinal injury earlier this year and excruciating physical pain in my legs, I have been unable to bend my foot and to walk since March.

As a result I have had to stop working and to go on welfare.

I am seeing so many medical doctors including a Psychiatrist and a Psychologist for depression.

My problem is in getting Social Security Disability. My doctors say I am permanently disabled, but because I am so young (42), I am having an uphill battle getting disability.

I truly need a miracle. I have very little financial means left to support myself.

My prayer request is therefore for me. I humbly ask for a small intercessory prayer – that I will get disability on this very first attempt and find the financial means to support myself in the interim.

A second request is that I will one day be able to walk again.

I want to serve God so much but I feel like such a failure anymore.

Thank you so much.

Vito Joseph, having spent 18 months off work and two lumbar surgeries, I’m right there with you. First of all, offer all of your suffering up to Christ as a penance. You are being tested as part of God’s total plan for your life. Your response reveals your faith. Place your entire being in the Lord’s hands, as it was Him who gave the gift of life.
Merciful Creator God, you conceived of Vito Joseph from all eternity as an irreplaceable part of Your Divine plan. Graciously shed Your mercy upon him now, in his hour of testing. May his desolation prove his strength O God, and may he exalt Your name to Highest Heaven. In Your Divine Mercy, grant him sustenance and healing so that he may be a beacon of hope to those around him who are despairing. Grant him the Heavenly knowledge that he is not wandering in the desert, but rather crossing it. I ask this through Christ, our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen.

Don’t worry, you sound pretty faithful and it seems you would do anything not to get on disability, but to actually be healed and get back to work. Pay no mind to naysayers- God knows if you have enough faith, he doesn’t need to test you. Nobody can tell you why things happen or why God allows it, but don’t let them tell you He did it to you as some kind of sick test. Anyways, the Bible says God will provide all you need, so just believe that and continue to pray and do penance. I will continue to pray for you, as will everyone here, I’m sure. 🙂

God bless you in having the courage and humility to bring your intention to the CA forums! Your intentions, as well as the many others on the forums, are a true gift to me. They liberate me from my own self-pity of personal problems that are often painful to me; but relatively MUCH smaller to many of the intentions of the faithful presented here on the forums, including yours. I’ll be remembering you tonight in my rosary.

Praying that you get your ssd,soon,I hope you have a lawyer,here in IL. its impossible yo get ssd without one.I will keep you in daily prayer I know how discouraging it can be.I went through it for a year,before receiving it
