You haven’t?? Wow…LOLIt shames me to admit it but haven’t heard of White? But I do think Nancy Pelosi would make a dynamite Ring Wraith!

Yes on Pelosi! I can hear the eerie screams of despair and anger already!
LOL… He’s a pretty noted Protestant apologist who debates Catholics often.Uh, ok, not sure how to take the “you haven’t? wow!” comment LOL…feeling like a goober here for being honest!![]()

It’s funny how Arwen doesn’t even really appear in the Lord of the Rings books except in passing mention and a bit of background on her in the appendices! For some strange reason Peter Jackson, the director of LOTR, felt it necessary to make her a major part of the plot and a key figure. The part where she was so heroic in the film and saved Frodo from the Ring Wraiths at the Anduin River, that wasn’t her doing that in the book, it was her father, Elrond. They beefed up her role mostly for the ladies I think. The real chick of the books and movies that was more important to me was Eowyn.
A true Discordian thread.
What about Arwen? I was thinking Joan of Arc, honestly.
Yep. Either Jackson did it for the ladies, or in order to have a love story be a part of the movie. Yep, definitely Eowyn. Heck, Galadriel had a bigger role in the books than Arwyn did. It’s funny how Arwen doesn’t even really appear in the Lord of the Rings books except in passing mention and a bit of background on her in the appendices! I was going to say, that was definitely Glorfindel or Haldir, not Elrond.Glorfindel.

It’s all about the interpretation. Generally speaking, it can be seen that way, but you also have to take into account the nature of the deity we worship. Chaos really can’t be controlled. Organized, sort of, but not controlled. Plus it really doesn’t have to be looked at as a religion. It all depends on the adherent. I chose to follow it as a religion, and I do have a general guideline, but not everyone is like me. However, the last “Commandment” is basically a call to question things. It’s so you can really consider what your beliefs are, and look at things from a lot of different angles, and to take everything with a grain of salt. It’s one of the reasons I research everything. No offense Eris, but the “five commandments” kinda pushed Discordianism over the edge from kinda funny to just plain foolishness . . . at least that’s what it did for me. Discordianism seems like just another sect following secular times, there is nothing “religious” about it. It is simply a way to justify doing whatever you want rather than doing what some god has to say about things. Some people may call this self worship, and I might agree with them.
Once again, I mean no offense, these were just my thoughts on the subject.
I concur.I was going to say, that was definitely Glorfindel or Haldir, not Elrond.
This has been the most entertaining thread I’ve ever read on CAF.![]()
Galadriel and Eowyn were awesome! They were really great characters.Yep. Either Jackson did it for the ladies, or in order to have a love story be a part of the movie. Yep, definitely Eowyn. Heck, Galadriel had a bigger role in the books than Arwyn did.
Not Haldir. I met Haldir, a couple of years ago. He’s from Lorien, not Rivendell.I was going to say, that was definitely Glorfindel or Haldir, not Elrond.
