Sounds like trying to impose order on the process to me. Whatās that word āshouldā doing in there?Eh, kids should not be Discordian. Itās kind of something you need to discover as you grow up. My mom had rules, and consequences for breaking them, so it was kind of a no brainer of what I should do. As I got older, and still, there are rules, but I donāt have as much structure and get to discover myself more as a person by exploring all kinds of things, especially where faith is concerned. Itās actually a lot about maturity, and children are not mature enough to handle this way of thinking.
*Edit: I donāt say need as in everyone needs to be Discordian, but need as in you need to be an adult to be able to fully think and reason.

I agree I have seen a lot of parents who let their kids do whatever. My mom scares me still, and Iām almost 21. She never laid a hand on me, but she scared me. I was rarely misbehaved as a kid. Itās like the parents who bring a stroller to a rated R movie and their kids are crying or running all over the place. My dad, when he was able to speak, always taught me āYou canāt always get what you wantā(Yes, the Rolling Stones! We played that song at his funeral outside the church as the casket was leaving), and didnāt spoil me. I was the anti-thesis of an only child. My mom always read to me as a kid, it really helped me out, because we spent time together and I learned somethingI didnāt have the whole white-picket-fence thing, but I was well adjusted for losing my dad at 9, and watching him deteriorate my whole life. Granted, Iām a bit of a āGothā kid with tattoos and facial piercings with multicolored hair, but Iām a good person most of the time. Plus Iām really close with my family, so it helps a lot. I feel bad for the evangelicalās child, some of them can be really harsh and scary. There is a fine line between a good parent and an overbearing one.
I like to learn. I like to learn about things I donāt agree with, and I like to learn other sides of an argument.Just curious, what would make you come to Catholic Answers Forums?
Effectively. Thatās a pretty good analogy.LOLā¦I want chaos, but here are some guidelines and blueprints for it!Maybe this discordian thing is more like a controlled demolition of an old high-rise

LOL. I am a big Marvel fan myself. I only have 1 so far, and I am getting more in covered places. As for piercings, I like the way they look, so Iāll keep them until I get a real job, then Iām taking them out. Iām not getting anymore though, I only have 3 piercings, so itās not too bad. Iāve seen people who are a lot worse.Iām old-school. The only people who should have tattoos are marines on the inner forearm and hellās angels. The only people who should have piercings are Hindus in India and primitive tribes in the bush of Africa with plates in their lipā¦I donāt like looking at people who have arms that look like a Marvel comic book. And this is coming from a big Marvel fanā¦

LOL Giants? New York I take it. Iām a Philly girl myself. Iām not a sports person, really. I was always the more artistic person. I do like playing hockey sometimes, and watching it, but usually Iām not a sports person. I write a lot, and sing. Tattooās are cool though, my mom actually got one after my dad passed. Faith, Hope, and Love, in Chinese around her ankle. I got the Ankh on my wrist, and sheās getting a Celtic cross with knots around her wrist. Also, this is a weird question, but where can I post something about struggling with faith? My momās having a hard time right now, and I want to get some advice for her, and she herself isnāt a forum person because she is bad with writing and afraid to post on a site.Iām a clean slate, an empty canvas and Iām stayinā that way! Iāll express myself with my mouth, guitar, writing, and Giants hat lolā¦
LOL. Well itās not necessarily destroying organized religion, but a way to try to build for ourselves a new way of looking at Faith, God, ect.The problem is, I was joking!![]()

Edit: in my last post I thought you might be from NY, and then I looked at youāre location. So youāre from Cali, lol. Oops![]()
Oops! I donāt know sports teams that well. The Phillies are good, when your not trying to get downtown to your favorite club right after they win the Championship. Good lord, traffic was a mess! Baseball is more fun to play than to watch for me. And I have sung the National Anthem at the Phillies games for years until I was in college. Like I said, Iām not a sports person, though I do love hockey. Iām more of an art geek myself. One of those art kids who wore all black and drew in HS, then actually bought colors and started writing instead. I was the weird kid LOL.Come on now, girl, SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS baseballIām NOT a NY Giants football fan, baseball Iām talkināā¦For football itās either Niners or Chargers. I respect the Phillies, though. Great team, great history, I was pulling for them against those scumbag Yankees!
The Sith believed that conflict was the only true test of oneās ability, and so emphasized its importance. It was their belief that conflict challenged both individuals and civilizations, and so forced them to grow and evolve. They believed that the avoidance of conflictālike the pacifist teachings of the Jediāresulted in stagnation and decline.
SourceAnother purpose served by conflict was the elevation of the strong and the death of the weak. By encouraging strife, the strong were able to exercise their power while the weak were weeded from the ranks of the Sith. A core tenet to Sith philosophy was self-reliance and the idea that an individual only deserved what they were strong enough to take. Likewise, morality was treated as an obstacle to be overcome, as it got in the way of a Sithās ability to recognize and seize opportunities for advancement and self-empowerment.
Probably for a lot of reasons, mainly because Eris is Female and Shiva is male (Correct me if I am wrong), therefor making it the opposite of other male-headed pantheons and religions. Also, Eris is one of the more looked down upon Gods because of the decibel with the Trojan war. She was not highly worshiped, and no one really liked her. She wasnāt exactly a destructive god either, at least not in the same way. She was more mischievous than anything else.Eris, your religion reminds me of the Sith. Iām not saying this as an insult but making a parallel:

The general humor reminds me of the Dada movement, also known for its anarchy as well.
Why Eris and not Shiva, the Destroyer? Or is it a God/Godness by any other name?
Trickster deities work best via humor, I do believe you got touched by the goddess there my friend. The problem is, I was joking!![]()
You know by now the Sith should be going āHe lose everytime to the Jedi maybe we need to rethink a few thingsā¦āEris, your religion reminds me of the Sith. Iām not saying this as an insult but making a parallel:

Ah, Siths. I donāt know as much about Star Wars, because I havenāt seen it in years. Discordianism is similar, but also doesnāt have the emphasis on āSurvival of the Fittestā. Anyone can become a Discordian, and they are not exclusive. Morality isnāt an obstacle so much as more personalized. Itās also not cut-throat like Siths, and there is no hierarchy.

The Sith are much too disciplined to be Discordians, or virtually any stripe of pagan. My bet would be Calvinist, Wahabbist Muslim or Opus Dei.
I just committed three counts of blasphemy in Ireland. Thatās $75,000 (pounds?) worth of fines. Ooops.
