Yes swariffin, there are clear verses about that. There is a clear statement “They could not kill him and they could not kill him on the cross. But it was made to appear to them like that… And they surely could not kill him” Al-Quran 4:157.

There are a few more on the same subject…
Goodness. You must be thinking a lot of swariffin. :jrbirdman:

OK, that would be fine. I paraphrase for you : God saved Jesus from crucifixion because God did not want Jesus to die a shameful or cursed or humiliating death. Is that correct?

It is high level sense of Islam that it rescued (saved) the prophet Jesus a.s. from the adverse, ignoble (cursed) death on the cross. It is according to the teaching of the bible OT that any one who dies on the cross is cursed. That is not a teaching of the Quran. But it is the teaching of bible.

That is why the Jews (enemies of Jesus, teh Pharisees etc) were bent upon killing Jesus on the cross. The mission was to prove that he was not a man of God. That he was a cursed person.

The Quran clearly states that Jesus did not die on the cross. WE feel that is correct. Jesus sincerely prayed (to his God) in the garden before his arrest. That was to avoid the cup that was planned for him by his enemies. We believe that his prayer was accepted by his God. That is reported in the Quran and God (Allah) assured Jesus that he will not die on the cross.

The same is reported in the bible. It is said that an angel came to Jesus during his prayers and was strenghthening him, meaning that angel was helping Jesus and assuring him that his prayer was accepted.
This is the biggest hogwash I have ever read.

PS: You spelled strengthening wrong.

Jesus was being tested. Like He was being tested when He fasted for 40 days and nights.

Maybe you should read AFTER He said that the cup should pass him.
"Withdrawing a second time, he prayed again, "My Father, if it is not possible that this cup pass without my drinking it, your will be done!"Mathew, 26;42

Read and listen to his word! “Your will be done!”. So Jesus our Lord and Saviour accepted his fate, so that our sins may be forgiven.

I have already known that Planten, and you are addressing it to wrong person. It should be Reuben J, anyway. But, that’s OK. Nevermind, and thank you anyway.

Lets examine first just how peaceful Mohammed in fact was. Every Muslim will admit that Mohamed was a not a pacifist, but at the same time, they would insist he only resorted to violence when there were no other alternatives, or as the will frequently state “Mohammad only killed enemies of Islam and never killed an innocent person”. Let’s look at some of the occasions where we know Mohammad had authorized the use of violence.

One good example of this would be the battle of Badr. This battle took place during the time after Mohammad had been evicted from Mecca for his blasphemous rhetoric against the many god’s worshiped by the Meccan’s. After his eviction, Mohammad and his band of thugs supported their existence in exile by ambushing trade caravans and dividing the loot among themselves…of which Mohammad always receive 1/5th of the loot…interestingly…Mohammad actually tells his men that it was Allah’s idea that he should receive 1/5th of the loot.

Historically Muslims claim that they were merely returning property that belonged to Mohammad and his followers that they had to leave behind after they were expelled from Mecca and which coincidentally happened to be contained in the many trade caravans leaving Mecca (apparently Mecca traded exclusively in goods stolen from Mohammad and his followers if this is true)…however if this was true, Islamic law would indicates that all of the retrieved property be returned to the rightful owner of said property rather than being dived up between the raiders. Eventually, Mecca grew tired of seeing it’s caravans raided and it’s caravaner’s being killed and they sent out a force to protect a particular caravan that they had knowledge Mohammad and his thugs would attempt to attack. The Meccan force succeeded in prohibiting the raiders…I mean Muslims from attacking the caravan. Mohammad, having grown tired of being unable to pick off the caravan headed towards a watering hole located in Badr…it was a location that Mohammad knew the Meccan force would have to travel to eventually as there were so few sources of water along the trade route they were defending. The Meccan force having successfully escorted the caravan to safety, began it’s long journey back to Mecca. The Meccan arrived at the outskirts of Badr in desperate need of water only to learn that the water source was being defended by Mohameed and his troops…allow me to read you a description of what followed: The following is a description of the quote “battle” that is found on: thereligionofpeace.com. Note, the description of events are from respected Islamic historians of the time:

The Muslims clearly had the advantage against the weary and reluctant Meccan’s, even though they were lesser in number.* Initially, they amused themselves by killing the few men desperate enough to try and reach the water:

The Muslims toyed with several other thirst-crazed Meccan’s in the same deadly manner before Muhammad finally gave the order to rout the “enemy.”
The period following the victorious battle was one of giddy celebration for the Muslims.* The decapitated heads of Muhammad’s opponents from Mecca were presented to him, and their slayers honored.* Live captives were brought before him as well, where he ordered some ransomed and some executed.* In what seemed bizarre even to his own men, Muhammad walked among the bodies of the dead Meccan’s and taunted them, insisting that they could hear him in Hell (Bukhari 59:314).
The captured wealth of the Meccan’s was divided among the victors.* Hamza, the man who had slaughtered the first Meccan attempting to reach water, turned his cruel amusement toward defenseless animals, cutting the humps off of camels and disemboweling them for no reason other than to relish their agony (Bukhari 59:340).
Amid the drunken carnage, Allah “spoke” to Muhammad and told him to make sure that the other Muslims gave him a fifth of the war booty.* These words have become permanently recorded in the Qur’an (8:1), even though they have no relevance today.* The prophet of Islam also informed his men that their victory was actually due to a legion of angels sent down by Allah (8:9) – which were, of course, visible only to Muhammad (8:50).* (For some reason, the angels didn’t show at the next battle, in which the Muslims were routed at Uhud).

In this case, the historical context is completely at odds with any misconception on the part of modern-day Muslims that the Battle of Badr was a defensive conflict.* Only the Meccan’s fought in defense of their lives and property that day – and they did so reluctantly, after Muhammad took monumental steps to force them into battle.

Another example of Mohammed’s peaceful nature can be seen on the occasion in which he massacred the Jew’s of the village of Qurayza. Mohammad possessed a great deal of animosity towards the Jews throughout all of his public life and they for him. From day one Muslims have hated Jews and Jews have hated Muslims, this became abundantly clear as a result of Mohammed’s dealing with the Jews who resided in the tiny village of Quaryza near Medina. Apparently, at around 627AD the city of Medina came into conflict with the forces of Mohamed, and according to the Muslims it was the Jewish community who encouraged Medians to attempt to capture and kill Mohamed. Ultimately the forces of Median failed largely as the result of some clever tactics on the part of Mohamed. Upon their failure, the Medinian forces returned home, and Mohammad at the “behest” of the Arch Angel Gabriel insisted that revenge be taken upon the Jews who he viewed as responsible for the attempt upon his life. Ultimately after a brief besiegment of Quaryza, the Jews surrendered and attempted to negotiate terms of their surrender. The Muslims accepted their surrender and and then beheaded all of the men and pubescent boys…up to 900 males in total…Mohammad was personally present for all of this. The remaining population was enslaved by the Muslims, and apparently used for sex…a common Muslim tactic seen even today. Ultimately, when it was all over, an entire tribe had been either executed or enslaved…Mohammad even took one of the woman as his wife. The Muslims used what they had looted from the village to finance their operations for many years thereafter. These are facts provided by numerous Islamic sources and readily admitted today as occasions where Mohammad had no choice but to inflict merciless slaughter upon his perceived enemies…for the angle gabrial had ordered it…which of course can only be verified through the claims of Mohamed.

These are just two of many many occasions in which Mohammad had personally overseen military actions against people where justification for his violence often only existed in his mind. Mohamed and his thugs are said to have launch numerous military campaigns in an effort to spread Islam’s influence. Mohamed had once even ordered the death of two Median poets who had written poems that were critical of his tenancy to brutally slaughter his perceived enemies. I wonder if Mohamed had an appreciation for the irony of killing people because they dared to criticize his violent tenancies. Yet, knowing all this, Muslims today still honor Mohamed as a man of peace, since as they claim nobody Mohammad ever killed was innocent. How is it known that he never killed an innocent man or woman…well…if they were innocent Mohammad would not have killed them. In other words, they were guilty by virtue of the fact that Mohammad killed them. Kind of a circular logic, but it’s an argument that I’ve actually seen Muslims use to justify his atrocities.

Let’s examine some of his additional virtues. Well, as was just mentioned, Mohamed not only advocated slavery, but was an actual slave owner himself. He and his men frequently had sex with the female survivors of the regions he had conquered. Even today Islamic law allows for such things. Per Sharia law, captives of war can be treated as follows:

Islam permits sexual relations between a male master and his female slave outside of marriage referred to in the Qur’an as “what your right hands possess”, although he may not co-habit with a female slave belonging to his wife. Neither can he have intercourse with a female slave if she is co-owned, or already married. If the female slave has a child by her master, she then receives the title of “Umm Walad” (lit. Mother of a child), which is an improvement in her status as she can no longer be sold and is legally freed upon the death of her master. The child, by default, is born free due to the father (i.e. the master) being a free man. Although there is no limit on the number of concubines a master may possess, the general marital laws are to be observed, such as not having intimate relations with the sister of a female slave.
In fairness to Islam and Mohammad, masters are instructed to treated their slaves humanely and cruelty towards a slave could result in the master’s damnation to hell (clearly raping a female slave was not considered an act of cruelty). Releasing a slave is considered a great act of charity, of course it is not required by Islamic law.

Speaking of sexual morality, and Islams total lack thereof, let’s discuss Mohammed’s attitudes towards marriage. OK we know that Mohammad was a polygamist and Islam as a whole tolerates this. This doesn’t necessarily make him evil…certainly he’s no feminist, but I can’t condemn anyone who possesses the insane courage to take more than one wife. But I can certainly condemn his following attitudes towards marriage.
For example, during a military campaign in what is now Kuwait, Mohammed’s men had gone so long without having seen their wives that they were becoming sexually desperate. In an effort to avoid, a fulfillment of just what it means to be sexually desperate and having naught but male companionship, Mohammad invented a concept known as “sigheh” or a “temporary marriage”. This meant that a man and a woman could become married for periods of time as short as 1 hour and the only condition that needed to be meet was that the woman had to provide a dowry of a single piece of cloth…often the very clothing off her back. This allows a faithful Muslim man to marry a woman against her will (which basically describes all Islamic marriages even today) and essentially rape the woman and be done with her. This is a legal reality that is still in effect today in various Islamic nations, and is often done in exchange for cash…in other words woman are being whored out by Muslim clerics for payment.

As I mentioned earlier, Mohammad married several woman during his life. It was his last marriage that Muslims like to discuss the least. He married a young lady who was by all accounts quite lovely. What’s so interesting about this particular marriage is the fact that while he was 54 at the time, she was 6…not 60…not 16…6 years old…6 as in the number between 5 and 7…6! Muslims frequently like to deny this fact, but it is mentioned routinely in Islamic historical literature. It’s referred to nearly 20 times in the hadiths. I haven’t even gotten to the really sick part yet. Not only did Mohammad prefer the company of pre-pubescent girls…he actually had sex with her at age 9. In addition to the fact that clearly proves that he was a pedophile, it also seems to strongly indicate that Mohammad must have been hung like a freaking squirrel. Now, if you confront a Muslim with this fact today, they will initially deny it, and then once they realize that you actually know what you are talking about they’ll shrug their arms and say…”so what…they were married…it can’t be pedophilia if it’s your wife”.

Honestly, If I were a Muslim…the second I heard that the founder of my religion was a man who preferred to be sexually intimate with pre-pubescent girls…I immediately start shopping for another religion. This fact by it’s self, singlehandedly discredits the man entirely. Why would anyone care about anything a pedophile had to say? Fact is, many life long Muslims are completely unaware of this fact, but at the same time those who do know find it acceptable…since after all…the 60 year old perve was in fact married to the 9 year old child at the time.

Speaking of things that are both embarrassing and totally discrediting: the rarely discussed satanic verses. Apparently, early in Mohammed’s career as Allah’s prophets, he grew weary of the fact that the resident of Medina were ignoring his message and continued to worship their own gods rather than Allah. Mohammad decided that his efforts might be a little more fruitful if he acknowledged praised the many Medinian god’s and their power. It worked, by praising their ancient gods, the people of Medina became far more receptive to him as a godly man and prophet. Later in his prophecy, Mohammad and his followers realized the apparent contradiction in claiming that Allah was the universes one true gods, while at the same time he was praising the greatness of the ancient god’s of Medina. Mohammad simply dismissed this contradiction by blaming it all on Satan…Satan made him say it and the Arch Angel Gabriel made him aware of the fact and scolded Mohammad harshly for being made a tool of the evil one. So…what do we have here? Mohammad, while acting as Allah’s prophet was preaching the word of Satan…he was essentially during his time in Medina…Satan’s prophet. Now a reasonable man might upon hearing this think that anyone who had admitted to being Satan’s earthly messenger…even if unintentionally… might not be a reliable source of god’s holy message. After all, he admitted that Satan had lead him to speak horrible and blasphemous lies…why then would you trust anything that he had to say after that? Why assume that he was no longer the unwitting servant of Satan? Obviously, and for good reason, the Muslims never speak of these verses openly…after all, it completely discredits the man who founded the faith of Islam. Discredit Mohammad and you literally discredit the entire faith since every ounce of it came from him.

Clearly, there is a sickness within Islam. A sickness that allows otherwise good men and woman to venerate a Satan possessed, mass murdering pedophile. This is a sickness whose symptoms can be read virtually every day in the headlines of your world news reports…a sickness that allows good men to detonate bombs in crowded marketplaces; to brutally severe the heads of innocent men and woman. It’s sickness that leads parents to brutally disfigure their daughter for fear that they might some day know sexually pleasure; a sickness that forces woman to hide their identity under layers of burlap; a sickness that leads men and women to aspire to nothing greater than murder in the name of their lord. Should this be a surprise to anyone who knows the truth of Islam’s founder?

Yes, Jesus said “Not mine, but thine will be done”. God accepted Jesus’ prayer. It is the will of God (not the will of Jesus) which prevails.
I’ve heard in this forum that the will of The Father and The Son is the same will …

but I see here that one(Son) wants to be saved while the other(Father) wants him to die !! …also, was The Son aware of what his Father’s will was ?? Why praying in first place if you know you will be killed ??

the verses that talk about the crucifiction of Jesus in the koran are chapter 4 verse 157 and 158.
According to muslim scholars , allah put someone else in his place and raise Jesus to heaven.
Now that make allah a deciever because he made it look like happen but no one seen it and he waited 600 year after that to tell it to a man called mohamad.
Beside that the story does not make sens that show the nature of the god that the muslims fallow.the question is why would anyone believe a deciever.

I hope the muslims will think about it and come to Christ the true God.

God is considered unknowable by Muslims, so He is allowed to decieve according to Islam. It is their belief.

Yes, the Father and the Son have one Will, for the Father is in the Son and the Son is in the Father; the three Persons of the Trinity, each of whom is God Himself, is in Each Other, for there is only one God and He is Simple, Spirit.

No, Jesus did not want to be saved. He told His Apostles He was laying down His life and, just as He had the power to lay it down Himself, He also had the power to raise from the dead - because He is God.

What Jesus meant when He prayed “Father, if it is possible, take this Cup away from Me; but not My Will, Yours be done” is that He, in His Humanity, was feeling the disturbance which we all feel when presented with crosses. Jesus was like us in all ways save sin. Not only was Jesus perticipatng in humanity’s disturbance as the New Adam, He was also teaching us how to pray in times of distress and that we must make God’s Will our own will.

Your last sentence dose not make sense. What man who has hope in God would not pray to the Lord for the strength, courage, and patience to endure death, let alone any heavy cross?

Please provide a source of evidence for these claims.

And if these claims are true, than Moahmmed would be an ancient equivalent of Hitler and terrorists. (No offense meant to Muslims)

No you got it all wrong.

See, the Lord said “The Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak”. He understood as a human, that He was very well scared and afraid. As we all would if we are going to be nailed up upon a tree.

Yes, the Son knew the will of the Father. At the end, He obeyed the Father’s will and died for it willingly with grace and love.

Our sins… forgiven, the gates of Heaven finally opened, and the chains of hell, were shattered.

… I don’t think it necessarily implies rescuing the prophet from harm or danger,.
there is a verse in holy Quran that says Jews in the past killed few Prophets (pbut). So , it’s not a must that a Prophet (p) can’t be harmed by enemies. Why Jesus (p) was saved by God Almighty & why others Prophets (pbut) were killed , only God Knows Best.

But we see that after the sins being forgiven, we see that there is a landslide in comittment of sins amongst the christians.

Truly God knows best but the Quran is insufficient for not revealing why God saved Jesus from the cross in the light of the belief of the followers of Jesus even during Mohammad’s time.

If God could save Jesus whom Muslims considered a prophet, then why did not God save those prophets who were killed by the Jews before Jesus? Another inconsistency in the Quran must be. This inconsistency would be better understood had God tell us the reason why he saved Jesus from the crucifixion on the cross.

And yes, Mr. planten, what are you trying to say there?

I’m going to assume you are talking about that even though our sins are forgiven, we still sin.

I’m assuming that’s what your trying to say. If so, understand that the Son of the Living God HIMSELF has doubted the father in the garden. That even MOSES, the only man that has seen a part of GOD himself has went astray and took glory from himself when he called for water hitting a stone.

That Peter denied Jesus three times even though he PERSONALLY met the Son of Man.

We are all to be tempted, and we are all bound to sin. Yes, Christians, Catholics, and all other faiths combined have sinned one way or the other. And I’m pretty sure you have too. Even looking at a woman for a fraction of a second thinking she’s “sexy” is a sin of lust.

God knows we are doomed to sin, but that’s why the all merciful God sent His only son, to forgive our wrongs, and so that we may repent. When a sin is done, we ask for forgiveness in confession. There we are asked to do penance, and repent for our wrong doings.

It’s not the fact that we all are continuing to sin, it’s the fact that we all must repent for our sins.

Repent.

Truly God knows best but the Quran is insufficient for not revealing why God saved Jesus from the cross in the light of the belief of the followers of Jesus even during Mohammad’s time.
It is simple. Jesus did not want to die a cursed death on the cross. He prayed to his God. God accepted his prayer and thus saved Jesus from the bad plans of his enemies.

All that was known to Muhammad and his followers. Quran simply told the whole story. It can be read in chapter 3, 4 and 5 of Quran. Also at another place, it is written “We (Allah) gave shelter to both (Jesus and his mother) from the grave calamity (Distress) in a place where there were springs and gardens…”

That also means that Jesus had not died.

.

It is possible that some prophets were killed by the Jews. The reason could be that they were killed suddenly and the prophets did not have any time to pray to their God for safety, like did Jesus in the garden. John the baptist was also killed (Not by the Jews) suddenly. He did noy know what was coming. He did not get a chance to pray, like did Jesus.

John the Baptist sat in jail for who knows how long before he was killed. Why could he not pray there?

Allnamesused - don’t forget that mohammed called for assasinations! He had an old man that was said to be well over 100 years old assasinated and a woman suckling her baby.

and mohammed also used torture on a man in order to find the rest of his possessions that he hid from mohammed.

You brought up a lot of history about mohammed that muslims, and their apologists, would like to forget.

Thanks, nice posts.

This post is to all the people who are posting about sin.

Keep in mind that mohammed and his followers broke most of the sins of the Bible’s 10 Commandments. Of course, he might not have known them since he was an illiterate pagan, but even so - his allah should have known what they were since they want to equate their moon god, allah, with the God of the Israelites Who gave the 10 Commandments to them! Anyway, by our readings of this allah wasn’t a very bright god. It didn’t even know about us leaving the earth’s atmosphere, or that the earth revolves around the sun, or it couldn’t even remember day to day, week to week, or month to month! That is why the koran has abrogated surahs!

But, sin is redefined in islam. It is defined in halal, haram and shirk. SO!!! What I am getting at is when muslims talk of sin and when Christians talk of sin - these are two different concepts. Of course, this is a common thing that muslims do - twist the meanings of words and let it go in order to appear as however they want to appear (eg: the use of the word ‘innocent’ in islam only applies to muslims, etc).

By mohammed redefining sin this makes him appear ‘sinless’. Well, that is also why muslims are not phased by us calling mohammed an Adulterer, Bandit, Immoral, Inhuman, Looter, Lecher, Misogynist, Murderer, Materialistic, Narcissist, Pedophile, Raider, Rapist, Slavetrader, Sexmaniac, Terrorist, Torturer, Unfair, Vengeful Warlord. All of these attributes and deeds are ok in the world of islam. they are only phased if they want to claim we are abusing mohammed, or islam.

An interesting article I came across in my email today.

Talking with muslims

It would be a very long post if it included all of his atrocities. Truely, if there is such a thing as an antichrist, it was him.
