Has you ever thought it was unfair that people who were baptized were forgiven all there sins? Well, Jesus offers a baptism to anyone who says the Divine Mercy novena. It starts on good Friday. Here is some info on it from ewtn: ewtn.com/devotionals/mercy/novena.htm
Its real easy to do and it only takes a few minutes.

Please spread the word. Thanks

Steve.

Divine Mercy- something I’ve been led to learn more about over the last couple of years and I appreciate the heads up.

Printed out the novena- God Bless!

no problem. Anyone else plan on doing the novena? It starts today!

I plan on doing it!!👍

In fact, I’ve even got a Divine Mercy Wallpaper and screen saver on my computer to help me keep my mind in the right place!

I just did Day One of the Divine Mercy Novena over 2 1/2 hrs ago and pray that I can continue to do it faithfully for the next nine days at 3pm as Our Lord asked Saint Faustina to do… :crossrc:

I got so inspired in saying the Novena w/the Divine Mercy Chaplet today that I bought a large image of the Divine Mercy and other items at the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy website. :harp:

I hope everyone at CAF this triduum is feeling even closer to Our Lord and reach out to HIM for mercy.

God bless

I started it today, thank you for posting it. Our priest reminded us yesterday to start today, but i forgot to pick up a copy at church. I emailed this to my dear best friend who is on vacation, and she started it as well.
Thanks and God Bless.🙂

😦

What happens if you don’t do it at 3pm. I am planning to do it but could not because of course we had Good Friday services. My priest is recommending it and he did it at the start of Good Friday services there. But in the mission Church(where I attended) we just had a lay led liturgy Good Friday Service. So I couldnt do it at three. But I still plan to do it tonight.

I didnt do it at three oclock either. I did do say several chaplets today, and even one at three, but I was going to do the novena tonight. I dont think you have to do the novena at three but I am not 100% positive. Anyone know for sure?

Sister Faustina wrote in her Diary: “The lord told me to recite this chaplet for the nine days before the Feast of Mercy, It is to begin on Good Friday.”

I found nowhere that says it has to be done at 3:00 pm.

Awww…don’t put such a sad face. :bounce: Nowhere have I seen that it is mandatory to do it at 3pm…so don’t sweat it. The reason I am doing it at 3pm is because that is considered the “Hour Of Mercy” for Our Lord and the Lord told Saint Faustina that he wanted a “Novena of Chaplets” as it states in a book on Divine Mercy that I have…so after saying the Novena one does the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and usually its done at 3pm from what I have seen.

I am sure that Our Lord knows that there are times when life can make it impossible to pray at the same hour every day… Do the Novena of Divine Mercy as faithfully as you can at 3pm and if you are not able to through no fault of your own the Lord knows that in your heart you wanted to and that is what counts…where ones heart is. 😃

Besides Our Lord told Saint Faustina to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy unceasingly (sp?)…so you can pray it as many times during the day as you like.

God bless

Thank you all for reminding me of the Novena! It has glad tidings to my heart. I was planning on asking my parish priest if he could do confessions on Divine Mercy Sunday before Mass. But, had I not done the Novena, everything would have been ineffective.

Thanks you guys.

Hey, don’t you agree that there is no better day for the Feast of Divine Mercy than during Easter>

Great! I am glad my reminder did some good. God bless you all and have a happy Easter.

Question on the Novena. I will Prob pray this in the next hour so I can do it and it count for today.

It ias amazing but in almost 18 years as as a Catholic I have never done a Novena. I do adoration.,way of the cross the Hours , the Rosary, etc but I have never done a Novena so excuse me for my ignorance as I blaze this new trail

So got this little pamphlet called the Divine Novena and Chaplet.

I see these prayers for each of the day.

Now do I just say this prayer.

or Do I say this prayer in combination with the chaplet

if I say it in combo with the Chaplet do I pray the prayer first then do the chaplet.

What is the custom

I started the novena too. I said mine this evening. I was at the Good Friday liturgy at 3 p.m. and at the Stations of the Cross at 7 p.m., so I said the Divine Mercy Chaplet with the intentions for today after I got home from the Stations. I’ll say it tomorrow at 3 p.m. On Easter, I’ll probably say it around 12 noon, since I’m going to Mass at 10 a.m. and my extended family is getting together around 4 p.m. It’s about an hour drive, so I’ll be unable to say it at 3 p.m. The rest of the next week, 3 p.m. should work.

I prayed the prayer that you linked to - is that all? Or do I need to pray the chaplet as well?

This site gives the prayers for the intentions for each of the nine days, as well as the instructions on how to say the chaplet. You should say the chaplet too. It’s not very long. It is said using a regular rosary, but the prayers are really short, so it takes only about half the time that a rosary takes. Here’s the link. catholicity.com/prayer/divinemercy.html. If you scroll down the page, you’ll see the instructions for the chaplet, as well as the prayers for each day of the novena.

I’ve never done a novena before but this one seems really easy and not time consuming. Also, I like the fact that it can be chanted and chanted a chaplet at three today. I think I just might be able to do my first novena if I continue it.

I have a quickie question. When you do the chaplet, do you only use the beads on the decades? Not the cross or the 3 beads after the cross or the medal? I’m kinda confused as to exactly how to do it.

Thanks

😃

Here’s a good list. It starts with the Lord’s Pray, Hail Mary, then Apostle’s Creed.

Howdee folks - I started a Divine Mercy Chaplet thread a while ago - there’s a link to it in my signature.

I’ve put up day one of the novena, and will continue with each day’s novena prayer and at least one decade of the Chaplet as approprite - if any of you feel the urge to join in and put up the prayers of the Novena or Chaplet yourselves, feel free.

God bless :crossrc:
