What exactly does it mean to “offer” the Eucharist to God, as in the Divine Mercy Chaplet? How can I offer his greatest gift? I just don’t get it.
This is a thought: Since Jesus was the “Lamb of God” and He is our Perfect Sacrifice, perhaps the word of the prayer is just in keeping with that idea, that Jesus is the Sacrifice of Atonement, and as a sacrifice must be offered. I don’t know how accurate that is, but it is a thought. What exactly does it mean to “offer” the Eucharist to God, as in the Divine Mercy Chaplet? How can I offer his greatest gift? As in “Eternal Father, I offer you the body and blood, soul and divinity of your dearly beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world”?What exactly does it mean to “offer” the Eucharist to God, as in the Divine Mercy Chaplet?
