Neither party can avoid remaining married. Despite infidelity, leaving the Church, divorce, remarriage, etc

I’m talking about remaining civilly legally married.

As to your old lady being mugged - that is not a fight within the sense of the conversation herein.

In the context of what I originally replied to–it takes two to fight–I believe it does. I’m making the point that within human relationships, when there is discord, it’s not always two people mutually ‘fighting’ and equally responsible. All too often, it is one person constantly on the attack against the other.

And you’re right at that point, the thing to do is usually to leave.

You’re also right that that is often easier said than done.
