Twice it was great, and BTW seminary is great so far really busy.Have any of you been to a “Come and See Weekend” at the seminary? I’m going to one in three weeks. I’m really excited about it! It should be an experience.
I was blessed to get into a 2 year program so I will graduate in 2 years and then go to the theologat or graduate school for seminarians.
I am taking Latin (classical
I am taking Old Testament
I am Taking Catholic Profession of Faith (favorite class so far)
And I am taking Ancient Philosophy.
I am in the Schola (choir)
I am doing library work
Play basketball 2 times a week.
We have a big football game and bonfire once a year and we play the rival Louisiana Seminary Notre Dame, my school St Joesph has won it 4 straight years, we are not breaking that streak this year.
Its really great
My Diocease has me come a do thing from time to time, This semester sometime maybe twice I will be telling my vocation story to kids or to a Church. Details still have to be worked out.
Making some great new Brothers in Christ (we are more then friends)
So I’m loving seminary
one last thing my prayer life went through the roof starting here, at seminary atleast the lower seminary they are really strict when it comes to prayer you must be at Morning and Evening prayer and Mass. Same thing with Class they are strict. If you start to miss things its a huge red flag on your formation record. With Classes 3 unexcused absences is an F and your kicked out the Class.
Its a great blessing though, If you are considering a vocation to the priesthood, I strongly encourage when you are old enough to enter the Seminary do it, of course if its God’s will, but don’t let fear of the seminary, or fear of missing out on things hold you from entering. Its a great blessing and even if you never become a priest it will change your life.
I’ve been in here for 3 weeks and I already see the Spirit moving in me and forming me.
