Assalaam O Alaikyum Sister,
I am sorry to say to you that what kind of muslim you are. You are stopping me to tell these christian the truth of ISLAM. Let me tell you who are MUSLIMS if you are forgetting. Muslim means to submit. Submit to who ALLAH/GOD. And I believe all prophet submit to Allah/God. Do you know on isra and miraj Prophet Muhammad SAW leads prayer to all prophets which are 124000. And our prophet was imam on Masjid-ul-Aqsa leading prayers to all prophets. please consult www.google.com search word ISRA and MIRAJ. Thank you
And to answer to all christian who ask question from me. I am sunni and shia from my parents. But this is only world thingy sunni and shia. All sunni and shia are Muslims. So i am muslim. I will not dwell myself in sunni and shia. I am just MUSLIM. Where as Assalaam O Alaikyum in hebrew means also peace be with you. in aramic its also peace be with you and in arabic its also peace be with you. it means I guess these languages are similar to each other and speaks in same continent. I am just not saying if Moses and Jesus are muslims. Muslims are those who submits and Moses and jesus submit to ONE ALLAH/GOD. By that common sense they are MUSLIMS. Rest Allah knows better and we will find out on judgement day so why fight with each other. My mission is to convey message to all about ISLAM. If you wanna follow it or not its up to you. But who ever come in my thread will be asked about ISLAM because i told you something about ISLAM. I want to show you the similarity between each others. First we have to come to the term of unity stuff than we will talk about differentiality. If we donot talk about same thing which are in our religion than how will we understand each other. If we donot come to common terms than we will taunt each other and fight which you all are doing here with me. Thank You So Please common to the common term that is why i post these thread to come to the common terms first. Assalaam O Alaikyum
anyway tom just tell us the important

you try to tell that’s jesus is muslim ?
i said before thats mohamad steal this term shalom 3alekhem from hebrews
so you try to say that’s jesus said shalom alekheim the hebrew salutation with hebrew people ( you thought it’s an islamic salutation)
to say in finnaly that’s a prophecy for islam because jesus said an islamic salutation
in reality it’s a hebrew salutation and mohamed just steal it as he always did
that’s your proof for your religion
i’m sorry for you
i pray for all muslims to see God

tomshaikh,

Peace be with you,

Jesus did not speak Arabic. He spoke Aramaic as the common day to day language. Here is Luke 24:36 in the Syriac-Aramaic script:

ܘܟܕ ܗܠܝܢ ܡܡܠܠܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܝܫܘܥ ܩܡ ܒܝܢܬܗܘܢ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܫܠܡܐ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܐ ܬܕܚܠܘܢ ܀

The part in red is: Peace to you (or Peace be with you). In the classical Eastern Aramaic dialect (Chaldean-Assyrian Aramaic), we pronounce it as: Shlama 'amkhon. This is how we greet each other in the holy liturgy, our worship service, when the priest says to us: Shlama 'amkhon (Peace be with you), and we the people respond: 'Amakh w’am ruhakh (With you, and with your spirit).

In Iraq, the Chaldean and Assyrian Christians continue to speak Aramaic on a daily basis with each other at home and in the community, by using a modern dialect of Eastern Aramaic. We continue to greet each other with the peace greeting. When we interact with the Muslims, we use the Arabic greeting so that they may understand us, but when we speak with one another as followers of Jesus, we use the Aramaic greeting.

God bless,

Rony
Thank you very much for posting in my thread. So far I like only your thread which makes sense. I would like to know from you that aramic, hebrew and arabic dialogues sometimes same or different or Are those languages are related to each other or sisters to each other. Please answer my question. God Bless You and May Peace and Blessing With You. No i donot speak arabic. My First Language is URDU which speaks in Bollywood Movies. I can read arabic very well. But unable to understand and write.😦

i suppose that’s you’re egyptian !! man you know islam
Sorry to disappoint you, but no to either of those things. I’m not Egyptian or really even all that interested in knowing Islam beyond what it takes to get along with Muslims, since up until last month I lived in a town with a large Muslim population.

Oh…is it the video in my signature, maybe? I found that some time ago and was really impressed by it, and people here have asked me to keep it in my signature, so I do. 🙂

Rony - BEAUTIFUL! Thank you for your post.
jakasaki,

Glory to Jesus Christ!

You are most welcome my sister in Christ. 🙂
i did wonder when mel gibson made the movie Passion of the Christ how they were able to have the actors speak aramaic. i thought that it was almost forgotten. so i am happy to read in your post that it remains very much in use today. i will continue to pray for all Chaldean and Assyrian families, especially those living in those countries where Catholics and Christians are persecuted. May God bless you!
7 Sorrows,

The Passion of the Christ movie used reconstructed Aramaic, that is, the Aramaic of Daniel and the Syriac-Aramaic of the 4th century, as well as, Hebrew, to produce the dialogues. With this reconstruction, they tried their best to get very close to how Jesus would have spoken the language in Judea at that time, but I found it, and many others, to be a bit hard to follow, though I did very much enjoy the movie, and the tremendous effort they put into it.

tomshaikh,

Aramaic, Hebrew, and Arabic are sister Semitic languages, related to one anther. It is also true that a dialogue in one language can easily be translated into the other two, though this does not mean that a speaker of one language can automatically and easily understand the other two. I speak Arabic and Aramaic, but I do not speak Hebrew. I have a young priest friend of mine who speaks Aramaic, but does not speak Arabic. At the same time, there are Christians who speak Arabic, but do not speak Aramaic.

Now, in this thread, the Arabic greeting is similar enough to the Aramaic and Hebrew greetings, and with a little focus, they can be understood by speakers of all three languages when the three greetings are used amongst each other. It is still different between them in the way they are spoken and written, but the basic meaning of the greetings is the same. I hope this answers your question, if not, let me know more clearly.

God bless,

Rony

tomshaikh,

Abraham came from Ur of the Chaldeans, which is in modern day Iraq, as recorded in Gen. 11:31. At that time, around 1900 BC, the language spoken in that area was not Aramaic (which came much later), but a language called Akkadian, specifically, the Babylonian form of it.

Now, the Aramaic of Daniel, also known as Biblical Aramaic, is the Aramaic found in about 6 chapters of the Old Testament book of Daniel, from chapters 2:4 to 7:28. Daniel was one of the prophets of the Old Testament, and his name in Arabic is دانيال (Danyal).

God bless,

Rony

Hmm. You should probably ask a Coptic Christian about that, 7 Sorrows. One such user (generally more active in the “Eastern Catholicism” forum than here) is MardukM, a very friendly and wise fellow of the Coptic Catholic Church. While Catholicism of the type in union with Rome is very much a minority faith in Egypt (the vast majority of Egyptian Christians are Coptic Orthodox, of the Oriental Orthodox communion), I’m sure his insights are just as valid as those of any other Egyptian Christian.

From what I have personally read, the everyday life of a Christian in Egypt is something of a mixed bag, and several high profile incidents throughout the ages into the present day show a lot of oppression of the Coptic Christians, with often local government collusion. There are plenty of places where you can find such stories, like this story from website “Voice Of The Copts” (warning: violent and disturbing images in that link) that talks about martyrdom of Coptic adults and children alike in the majority-Copt village of El-Kosheh only eight years ago. Oppression of Copts is definitely a reality in today’s and yesterday’s “secular” Muslim Egypt, but what that says about the overall situation of Copts in Egypt is not entirely clear to the outsider. It seems clear that, at least at the level in which these incidents are reported, grave injustices are being done to the Coptic Christians.

Anyway, I think it is good to pray for everyone involved in such disgusting acts of oppression and hatred, that the Lord receive the souls of His martyrs and that their killers receive justice at the hands of the Lord (it has already been denied to the victims by the Egyptian courts), and His forgiveness should they sincerely seek it.

may i ask how you became so knowledgable about the languages that are spoken in your family and how you know so much history about these languages? it is very unusual, but very interesting. i have learned so much. thank you for answering these questions.
