Thunderbird?It got better.
Was it MD 20/20? the Mad Dog?I think Mogen David might have been my intro to wine. Around age 6-7.
It got better.
He didn’t have to do much convincing. There were tons of Protestant Christians who were already convinced that alcohol was “demon rum” and should be completely prohibited. Welch was a Wesleyan Methodist, and that church was already on record as opposing the production, buying and selling of intoxicating liquor.and he managed to convince local churches to use his unfermented grape juice for use in their communion rituals.
TrueWhat reason do they give? It just seems so unlikely that people in antiquity would have drunk grape juice rather than wine.
A friend of mine made some homemade wine and it was pretty watery and weak. I understand that the water back then was not safe to drink so they drank wine. Perhaps this is what your friend meant, that the wine that Jesus drank was of a watery quality as a substitute for water and had very low alcoholic content. My friend says they drank a different wine
back then. I always thought wine is wine.
There’s a difficulty there. In the narratives of the Last Supper in the Gospels, Jesus doesn’t use the word “wine.” He always calls it “the fruit of the vine.”Why would scripture use the word wine then and not juice from grapes??
