Am I correct in saying that you believe all you need to have your sins forgiven is to say the Sinner’s Prayer? Please ,we all agree God is the author of all good , be it scripture or a miracle or forgiveness of sins .
Yes thanksgiving .For what ? Is it not a remembrance ?Eucharist in Greek means celebration it is the word used to describe the Sacrament of the Most Holy Body and Precious Blood described in the Bread of Life discourse in John 6.
All those verse have as much to do with your being allowed to “conditionally” declare a person condemned to hell, as they have to do with purgatory.“The wages of sin is death” . “For the preaching of the cross to them that perish , is foolish”. " Whosoever has sinned against me will I blot out of my book". " Except ye repent ye shall perish." “You vipers, how can you escape the damnation of hell ?”. "By your impenitent heart you treasure up for yourself wrath ". “For the time of judgement has come ,and if it first begin with us , what will be of them that obey not the gospel of God, and if we be scarcely saved , what of the sinner and ungodly ?”. “By the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe”. This preaching is foolish to them that perish.“Whom we preach (Christ) ,warning every man”… Look , we both agree the gospel , Christ’s teachings , which we are all to know and teach one another, declare the conditions of salvation , and also what happens in refusing the good news . We declare sin , judgement to come and righteousness, with the Holy Spirit bearing witness.
Really? Hmmmm
No he actually says this is my blood this my body - then people leave - and he does not call them back and correct them as he does in other Scriptures - he allows them to go as they are not prepared to follow Him in His instructions in their entirety.Yes thanksgiving .For what ? Is it not a remembrance ?
Are we not thankful for what Christ did once and for all ? Is not that TODAH ? Was this not part of the love feast ? I do not believe it was “affectual”,that is ,a means for further sanctification because of the supernatural ,magical idea of eating His elements. It is true ,He inhabits the praises of His people ,so that can occur with a symbolic rendering of Communion also. I am thankful for his work , you are thankful that you commune with Him by His flesh .I believe early church had the more simple rendering ,but i do not deny that it developed to be more .
The birds and the bees .Natural as opposed to unnatural.Natural ,as how God meant it to be.What does this mean man and woman are one “naturally” and “parts are parts”?![]()
Supernatural is your word .Unnatural is mine .It is totally unnatural to eat human flesh ,especially in our Jewish heritage.Shall I be coy and say I did a word search and found zero references to "supernatural "in the bibleBut you and Christ can not be supernaturally united because you have no means of achieving One Flesh with Him.
If you could explain this “naturally” reference. And a Scripture verse about this, with the words “Adam and Eve” and “naturally” would be helpful.O references in the Old Testament.I did a search for where the word “naturally” appeared in the King James Bible and found this:
Enough for what ,and what baptism ?And John the Baptist made it very clear that he was here to baptize with water but the one would come who would baptize with the Holy Spirit - so I guess baptism alone is not enough - Mk 1:2-8
Which law ? I am not telling my neighbor the law ,but to know the Lord.[BIBLEDRB]Hebrews 8:10-11[/BIBLEDRB]
Obviously, the law cannot be written on men’s hearts if it has passed away (which it hasn’t.)
Did not say it was you but someone on this thread .Would have to look back .Does it matter who ?Please cite the post where I declared your sins unforgiven.![]()

Then you are like the Jews who rejected Jesus and His Words.Supernatural is your word .Unnatural is mine .It is totally unnatural to eat human flesh ,especially in our Jewish heritage.
That’s *your *paradigm, david, not the Catholics. Remember, not everything we believe has to be found explicitly in the Scriptures. (Like, of course, Trinity, purgatory, incarnation).Shall I be coy and say I did a word search and found zero references to "supernatural "in the bible
Ok. Then when someone says the Sinner’s Prayer his sins are* not* forgiven?I answered that to catherder thread # 281 ,but short answer is no.
All those verse have as much to do with your being allowed to “conditionally” declare a person condemned to hell, as they have to do with purgatory.
In thread 281 ,it was implied ,NO.They might be.Ok. Then when someone says the Sinner’s Prayer his sins are* not* forgiven?![]()
So you can’t know with certainty if your sins are forgiven? In thread 281 ,it was implied ,NO.They might be.
Yes, david, you did indeed say it was me.Did not say it was you but someone on this thread .Would have to look back .Does it matter who ?
Sorry ,but this sounds like false piety. First you say my sins are not forgiven , but that you can not say if I am condemned to hell .Do you not teach the wages of sin is death , that every thing(sin) must be accounted for , that one must be perfectly clean to go into his presence eternally, and there are only two final places: heaven or hell ? If it is for God alone , then remittance or retaining of sins is for God alone also.
Yes,conditionally.
T
hen you are like the Jews who rejected Jesus and His Words.![]()
Ok. But they rejected Him.No ,by His grace I am like the Jews who by faith, are justified by God , from Abraham ,to David to Peter and Paul
But it’s unnatural to lie down with lions. So if it’s unnatural to eat His Flesh when he commands it, you ought to have an objection to His command to lie down with lions.Jesus said this could (and did) happen
LOL! It’s your Protestant paradigm, and it’s your objection to Catholicism. No it was yours .
I didn’t ask for Scriptures that “deal with hell”.Thank-you but if we get technical and avoid the other truth , 5 out my 7 scriptures deal with hell
