Same argument that makes room for stuff like the DaVinci Code. The Bible is not that big to put all Jesus side or did

(
Remember, Jesus’ work was finished 2000 years ago on the Cross!)
Thank-you.Indeed one can presume wrongly, but so can one submit wrongly. I would think He would want you to know more certainly of your eternal Home, and submit to this hope .You do rightly and beautifully say by His grace you are saved and will be saved . That sounds like a sure thing to me. Hope in scripture , in the Greek , has more of a certainty than is carried over in the English word “hope”. To lessen this certainty is to lessen trust in His plan and power to save .Either way ,we are judging, discerning .May it be according to His spirit and truth…Anyways ,I thought positionally we are seated in the heavenly’s and can boldly go into the Holy of Holies -not to do so may be false piety or lack of knowledge or divine revelation ,or lack of personally knowing and hearing from Him (the Judge) on this matter .The only correct answer to the “litmus question” is:
I submit to the mercy of my Lord Jesus Christ Who is alone the Just Judge. Through His grace I have been saved, am being saved, and will be saved.
If the answer is instead that you know with certainty you will go to heaven then you are impinging on Christ’s role as Judge. It is one thing to trust in His mercy, another to sit in His throne.
nothing to do with perfection,as in the law and “doing”-this is bondage to the old ways.We have been set free from the old quest .If we seek perfection ,we must seek it in Christ.Give it up ,His yolk is easy.He will perform it ,not you .Whatever "you " do is stench in his nostrils.CatHerder…tend to think the same with your response…we never can reach perfection in this life…all we can hope for is the Lord and call upon His mercy…which is far greater than all the sins in the world…

[BIBLEDRB]Matthew 25:31-46[/BIBLEDRB]nothing to do with perfection,as in the law and “doing”-this is bondage to the old ways.We have been set free from the old quest .If we seek perfection ,we must seek it in Christ.Give it up ,His yolk is easy.He will perform it ,not you .Whatever "you " do is stench in his nostrils.
Maybe I do and maybe I don’t. You really don’t know.
Does not the Bible say that God is the only one who can forgive sin?
Howdy. You are the first to mention my self depiction problem. You are right for clarity a comma would help .Otherwise some might think “Catholic” is the noun, and “protestant” an adjective, and “raised” adverb to catholic .Did you try clicking on my name and look at profile ? may have helped a little. Anyways, I was raised Catholic and became protestant at age 21…Sure James 5:14 goes great with 15-20 .I have no problem with “elders”(or bishops, teachers prophets)-just “pope” and “priest”. There is a reason why God used the Greek word for “elder” and not for “priest”.They are not the same.“protestant raised catholic”?
I’ve spend nearly 10 minutes to figure out if my perception was correct. Would you put a comma after “protestant” for clarity. My religious description would be “Protestant-raised Catholic” for clarity. This is confusing and misleads, whether intended or not. Your description is ambiguous.
Thanks.
BTW: Why not include James 5:14 along with James 5:15-20? It’s very clear that the scripture is speaking about church leaders just glancing over the **scripture **originally posted in the beginning of this thread. .
Hey, finish his name“protestant raised catholic”?

Yes, great scriptures for works ,for religion as Jesus called it .However, we were talking about perfection, which is related , but also different.[BIBLEDRB]Matthew 25:31-46[/BIBLEDRB]
He has broken down the middle wall of partition ,by His blood ,so that no longer is it His chosen ministers that can enter into His Holy of Holies, but ALL who would believe ,as in , you and I ,a kingdom of priests.Yes only God can forgive sin…
And remember that Christ has His own chosen called to be His ministers…of the Blood…that washes away our sins.
[BIBLEDRB]Matthew 25:46[/BIBLEDRB]Yes, great scriptures for works ,for religion as Jesus called it .However, we were talking about perfection, which is related , but also different.
JL: In the old temple there was a Jewish court and a Gentile court separating the two. In the New Temple, which Christ is building, the Church those walls have been taken away.He has broken down the middle wall of partition ,by His blood ,so that no longer is it His chosen ministers that can enter into His Holy of Holies, but ALL who would believe ,as in , you and I ,a kingdom of priests.
These are very good points, and demonstrate perfectly why it is that Jesus did not leave us to determine the Truth individually. He founded the Church so that His revelation to us could surrmount all these human deficiencies. He did not want us to be kept in the dark. How do you glean that I do not know ? Peter knew beyond doubt Christ was the Messiah yet seconds later refused that the cross was for Jesus.I know some things beyond a shadow of a doubt ,some things less strongly ,and some things He has kept me in the dark .This is as factual, personal, specific as i can get,and the reasonings have already been given.
Sounds kinda Gnostic.Illumination is what brings me into the church.
Don’t you think he is just expressing his beliefs?if you say “effectual” and “magic” are interchangeable, you are showing great contempt for Catholicism.
I agree. What happened during the Reformation is that people decided that it was a good thing to interpret apart from what God had already revealed to His Church. That is why there is so much fragmentation. Jesus promised to lead the Church into all Truth, and individuals can only benefit from this if they remain in unity with her.Yes it does ,for you must explain how Peter interpreted not only scripture , but tradition, rabbis, (Jewish church teaching ), even actions and words and the very person of Jesus himself .All these things Peter had to “interpret”. It has everything to do with what we are talking about. Yes.
He is not free to express wrong beliefs about Catholicism, esp when he has been shown that what he is professing is NOT Catholic teaching.Don’t you think he is just expressing his beliefs?
Indeed. And demonstrating this contempt for Catholicism is not permissible on the CAFs.There are a lot of people that have great contempt for Catholicism.
