Do Catholics still have holy water stoups in their homes

This is all I could find and it’s from wikipedia.
Most of theses stoups were destroyed or disappeared during the French Revolution in 1789 and in following years.

In the nineteenth century, most of the these stoups were made in ceramics. Some were unique in bearing the name of their owner. They were given as gifts on special occasions, such as births, first Communions and weddings.

I do. I also keep holy water in my desk at work for those extra stressful days.
 
Fortunately the French Revolution never made it to the US Midwest, so they never got our home fonts. 😃

The practice is still very much in use and fonts can take many, many, many different appearances and guises.
 
I have a holy water font in the wall, available as soon as guests enter my front door, and it is used! I also keep a holy water bottle in my bedroom.

Holy water fonts are sold in all the Catholic gift shops I have been in, and they are in catalogues of Catholic merchandise as well.

Many times when I bless myself I also say a prayer for all my children, that their baptisms be renewed!

Holy water is blessed with the prayer of the Church and is a sacramental. Children will benefit to use it as well as other sacramentals.
 
We have two holy water fonts in our home, one is the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the other is St. Therese. Ours are certainly not from the french revolution and have no monetary value, but we do use them from time to time. We get the holy water at our church(I am sure most churches have it in the back for filling bottles for home use).

I also have some healing water from Lourdes France. I ordered it from there when my dad was dx with cancer.

They’re making a comeback! I am getting a small font for my bedroom, though at the moment I use a free standing chalice to hold holy water and it is kept on a table by the door.

We have one in our living room beside our home alter, and one in each bedroom. The girls have one each in their room. 😃

Holy water is just water mixed with a little bit of salt. Both the water and the salt have been blessed by an ordained person. Holy water is called a sacramental and it has sanctifying properties only if the user has true faith. It is just another tool to accept God’s graces, but you better have real faith. Some people that do not understand the proper use of sacramentals use it in a very superstitious way and that is condemned by the Church. I do. I know many others, including on here, who also keep holy water and holy water fonts in their homes. Most (many) churches have a special urn with holy water for people to take home. You can buy a special bottle or use any clean ordinary container to bring the holy water home.

We bless ourselves on the way out of the house and use holy water regularly for special blessings or in prayer.
 
I have one in my bedroom, but its empty, I keep forgetting to bring a bottle with me to church so I can get holy water for it. The pastor of my church gave all the children at the school one with the Holy Family on it for Christmas 2004, so they are making a comeback.
 
I have a holy water font in the living room by the front door as well as one in each of the two bedrooms. 😉 Not long ago, my maintenance guy (we live in an apartment) came up to me to ask me if I could tell him where to find a holy water font like the one I have (nothing special, though!), and that he loves going to my apartment because he’s Catholic as well and gets to bless himself with the holy water, LOL! 😛
 
There are holy water stoups in my house at two or three doors, but they haven’t been filled in a long time.
 
I keep my holy water in a bottle. My son received a stoup for his christening gift, but most of our walls are concrete, so if I want to hang it from the wall, I’d need to run around knocking on all the walls to see which one can take a nail. 😃

My mom had a crystal candy dish on a pedestal that she’d use as a stoup. We always had holy water in the house.

So yes, there’s a number of people who have actual stoups in their houses… but there’s a greater number of people who keep holy water in their homes in a vessel other than a stoup.
