The governments of the rest of the world are derived from monarchies and tribal structures.

The United States alone started out as a Republic.

The medical care system of the United States began as voluntary systems.

Totally different system from the other countries.

One of the attributes of the United States system is the ability of the citizens of the United States to comparison shop … to find a different kind of care based on various mechanisms available from the other 50 states. In the United States we have a voluntary system of medical care.

And we have found that as a result of the decentralized system, out system is more advanced and least costly.

Third, people come to the United States for medical as their last resort. About the only alternative would be some private clinic in Switzerland. Maybe a sex change operation in Thailand. But if you want serious medical treatment, then you come to the United States and ignore the empty promises of the Socialists.

Fourth, you can look up the Frasier Institute in Canada for good statistical data.

Fifth, you can take a look at the waiting lines for NHS in the UK.

The easiest approach is to make Medicare optional and allow your money to be used at cash pay doctors and hospitals. Look it up on Google.

This has nothing to do with your claim. I am not arguing for Bernies plan, I am just interested in the facts.

There is no doubt that we have some good health facilities and rich people from other countries are willing to pay for them. That really has nothing to do with average cost however.

Obviously the best approach would to eliminate medicare altogether. Do you realize that the federal government subsidizes about 75% of part B premiums? There is no reason for this and it is bankrupting our country. Yet you already know this.

And if you threaten bankruptcy, you should be able to get even a deeper discount. Just sayin…

Refund my dedicated Medicare taxes for the past umptydeump years and I will shop around for an alternate to replace Medicare.
 
If you threaten bankruptcy, they will assign your medical treatment to an intern who is still in high school.

I think the primary reason one shouldn’t be too concerned on that point is because print media and television are yesterday’s formats that are consumed by yesterday’s people. This is why television, print and talk radio tend to be dominated by conservative media.

On the other hand, the online-world seems to be substantially more progressive.

Touting Fox News’ dominance over TV news or the ability for conservative print rags to write their books in black ink doesn’t lend credibility to their message. It just reiterates that their consumers are less likely to consume news in newer ways because they are generally older. As one would expect.

In the flip-side, it’s how Obama managed to route McCain and Romney via the “blogosphere”.

Older people stick to older ways and younger people generally stick to newer ways. As it’s always been.

I hate to tell you but taxes do not create a contractual obligation. Nobody is morally obligated to give anyone medicare.
