Do Eastern Catholics have stations of the cross? rosary? adoration?

How can a Latin parish follow the GIRM in the liturgy of St John? It wasn’t written for that liturgy.
I would suspect that it it is an instance of annually celebrating a DL for the edification and education of the parish faithful - something the Melkite priest in town happily does for about three parishes annually - than of course the General Instruction on the Roman Missal is not coming into play.

That’s pretty much what I think.

It would not have the local parish priest as the chief celebrant, but as a concelebrant.

I am surprised that such an event would replace a Mass, although such a thing is possible I suppose. I would expect the DL to be at another time, like Sunday afternoon.

Allatae Sunt made mention of the need for Eastern Catholic parish temples in Polish Ruthenia to be available for Latin priests to celebrate Mass, due to the dearth of Latin facilities at the time. I don’t consider the borrowing of a temple a direct latinization (or Byzantinazation, if carried the other way), except that it imposes upon the highly regarded discipline of only one liturgy per altar per day.

But that is something that can be set aside due to need by economia, so I don’t regard it as critical (unless the oft repeated practice tends to change the custom of the Eastern Catholics and they get used to multiple liturgies on Sunday).

Regarding the previous decline in charity, participants are strongly reminded that it is essential to our discussions here.

If you wish to review the subject, please see Charity for specifics, or CAF rules for an overview, both of which are located in the Rules of the Road sub-forum.

Do you think this scripture could apply to this situation:

2Co 8:14 In this present time let your abundance supply their want, that their abundance also may supply your want: that there may be an equality

Peace.
