Strange… if the Holy Spirit cannot be received into us, then we may have problems. Romans 8:9…The problem with the “typical protestant interpretation” is that the Bible depicts only three groups of people as having received the Holy Spirit:
Clearly not everyone has the power to convey the Holy Spirit, as Simon found out:
- The Apostles (and the Blessed Virgin) and maybe Stephen. (Acts 2:1-4, 6:5)
- The first batch of Gentile converts. (Acts 10:47)
- Those on whom the Apostles laid hands. (Acts 8:14–17)
