Perhaps consider your obligations in this matter. If you are only pursing this because it annoyed you, then perhaps you ought to let it go if you perceive that your pursuit of this matter will not benefit that pastor or any other people involved. By “benefit” I mean give good example to and the like. However, if you perceive that your pursuit of this matter could benefit other people, perhaps the pastor, perhaps other residents of the base, then you might decide to pursue it. If you are going to pursue it, do so with utmost charity. If you suspect you can’t do that, I’d let it go.

How can you best serve God and other people in this matter?

If you’re like me and annoyed by seeing unwanted leaflets blown around the neighborhood, stuck in bushes, crushed and wet in the street, stuck on every second doorknob (the other half are blown around, littering everything), or sometimes sitting at the end of every driveway (I don’t mean the newspaper that people order), then you might want to see if you can get the local ordinances enforced. But do it gently. I only need glance about my neighborhood to know when we’ve had an advertiser visit, and it is a very common happening. There ought to be a ordinance, and there probably is.

if adverts are placed by individuals in mail boxes (w/o proper postage and going thru the system) it violates postal regulations, both USPS and those of the military, so report it to the postmaster. if they want to evangelize they will have to find a legal way of doing it

I second what she says. Jesus said render unto Ceasar what is Ceasar. Ceasar says no to putting things in the mailbox without proper postage. As Christians they need to go though the legal system on this. The legal system does not in any way shape or form hinder them from evangelizing. That is if they did not use proper postage. It’s hard to tell from your post.

Also as wordy as this guy is I have real serious doubts that he is the least bit interested in listening to what you have to say. Therefore I suggest doing what Jesus commanded and dusting off your sandals and move on.

I do agree with taking everything to your officer and the post office and reporting them asap.

Certianly he should be reported if he is violating postal regulations but it wouldn’t stop him. I am thinking of making a sign for my door that will say:
Greetings, all door-to-door religious persuaders.
I recognize and appreciate your dedication. I know you are tired. Going to strangers’ doors makes you nervous. You have other things ot do. but you’re here becasue there is something more important to you than your personal safety, popularity or free time, and that’s your conviction that you know the truth.
I share your dedication to truth. I have good reasons to believe I have the Truth already, which I would love to share with you. If your organization forbids you to examine the evidence, please decide before knocking whether you will break that rule and see for yourself or move on. I am not going to change my mind.
