I used to be a Mormon yes. True blue. Went to BYU and lived in Provo for over a decade. Been thru the temple, etc etc. Held callings of sunday school teacher, Relief society teach and Relief Society President etc etc.Marie you were on the inside of LDS, am I missing something here or is LDS something other than a Christian religion. Just curious.
If people ask me if I think Mormons are Christians I tell them I see them as non-traditional Christians.
They do believe that Christ is the Son of God, came to earth, suffered, was crucified and rose again on the 3rd day for our sin.
What makes them non-traditional is that they dont believen in the Trinity in the traditional sense. For the the father, son and holy ghost are three distinct personages, each a god, united in purpose. And they believe that they can become gods by reaching exhaultation in the highest degree of glory in the celestial kingdom
Which means they are not monotheistic. (I think the term someone used was henotheistic or something like that)
I can fully understand why they vehemently deny the accusation that they are “not Christian”…Let me tell you even when I was a Mormon I knew I WAS Christian…I know what the Lord ment to me even then…And for someone to tell me that I wasnt was arrogant to me…
They had no idea what was in my heart…they didnt know the kind of relationship I had with the Lord…
That is why I will tell anyone who asks me…Yes they are Christians but in a non-traditional sense…
Hope that makes sense…
