Some are. It’s a term for a certain flavor of Anglicanism (Anglicanism is many-flavored, alas). Who often have no problem with transubstantiation.

Well at one time I went to a southern Baptist Church and they believed Mary was a good person. But your right which Protestants, they have about 40,000 Protestants out there with different beliefs.
Yeah, a nonsense number, unless you agree there are 240 some Catholic Churches. But beyond that that, the fact is there are some very basic movements that are catalogized as “Protestant”.

Anybody that can do a valid baptiam can be concerned a Christian. JW and Mormons do think they are Christian but there not. To be considered Christian you have to believe in the Trinity and not just have a valid baptiam. But people hijack the word Christian now days. God bless

Are you referring to ecclesiastical rites?
No. I was referring to the model that came up with 30,000 Protestant churches. It also came up with over 200 churches. There are, what, 23 sui iuris churches.

Those “200 churches” are particular churches within the One Catholic Church. The Supreme Pontiff exercises his authority over them through the Congregation for the Eastern Churches. To be Catholic, particular Churches and ritual Churches must be in communion with the Successor of St. Peter, just as the other apostles were in communion with him in establishing Churches in areas which they evangelized.

Also, to be considered a Church in the sacramental sense of the Mystical Body of Christ, Apostolic Succession is necessary. That is why the Catholic Church refers to Protestant “churches” as ecclesial communities.

Cool. Those over 200were determined by nationality.
It was the same method by which they counted 240 “Catholic Churches”, a flawed methodology. That’s why the 30,000 number is idiotic
