I have invited, through active members I work with, Mormons to come to my house for “bible talk” and I have yet to succeed in this venture. For some reason they won’t come to my house. If they are afraid to come into the dungeon, we can sit on the front porch swing…lol
JW’s come by every once in a while. I have been living in my neighborhood for about 5 years and the first time they ventured to my front door, while I was there, I invited them in and to sit, while I went to my office and got my bible, CCC, and code of canon Law.
Not quite sure but I think I intimidated them. Seems all they wanted to talk about was the one book I didn’t know much about, the Catholic Encyclopedia. Seems this book proves that we are a pagan religion…
Anyway, we had some very good discussions and they have come looking for me on a regular basis. To be honest I really enjoy talking with them. I think the reason is they are, at least the people who have come to my door, passionate about their faith. I think this fact and the fact that the majority of the population regardless of denomination affiliation is passionate about their life, and luke warm about their faith. This translates into a lack of knowledge of scripture or tradition.
