66 "The Christian economy, therefore, since it is the new and definitive Covenant, will never pass away; and no new public revelation is to be expected before the glorious manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ."28 Yet even if Revelation is already complete, it has not been made completely explicit; it remains for Christian faith gradually to grasp its full significance over the course of the centuries.
This paragraph implies that when Christ Returns He brings with Him a new Revelation…

…a revelation that “completes” His initial revelation…

What does it mean to make Revelation “completely explicit”?

There is no “new” revelation 👍

It remains for the Christian faith gradually to grasp its full significance over the course of the centuries.

Peace

“No new revelation is to be expected before…”

If there will not be a new revelation when Christ Returns then this sentence is not required in the CCC

Whatever, There is no more public revelation being the point… and private revelation is discerned by the Church.

Gods “Second Coming” has nothing to do with the conversation.

We are talking Bab and Mohammed…“private revelation” . Not approved by the Church.

Hi Servant19,

The Catholic “No New Public Revelation” may be seen as synonymous with the Islamic “No New Revelation after Muhammad”.

In this sense, Islam DOES teach the finality of Muhammad as they have always insisted that the Bab and Bahaullah cannot possibly have come with new revelation because Muhammad’s was last. All Muslims agree that Muhammad was the Last Prophet.

I can see this for sure.

The Kingdom of God on earth is within our grasp, yet, as was during Jesus’ time, rejection is rife…

Servant19,

There are Tablets of Bahaullah affirming the finality of Muhammad. This implies in my mind that Jesus did end Public Revelation as Catholics assert. He also implies as much in the Tablets addressed to Christians. Isn’t this amazing?!

Please elaborate further Bahaitruth 🙂

Servant19,

I can dig up quotes from Bahaullah but that may be a longer answer and take some time…

In the meantime, the shorter answer is arrived at if you consider **Meltzerboy’**s responses. Go back and read the last 2-4 responses from the Jewish perspective. Then come back and read what I wrote again. It should help you arrive at the answer to this question…

Understanding Meltzerboy’s comments is essential to understanding Baha’i belief in the finality of all Public Revelation through Jesus and finality of all Revelation through Muhammad.

A key Jewish statement is “I learned everything I need to know in Kindergarten”.

Well if you are implying that finality was also seen in the indigenous religions of Australia borne some 80,000 years ago, I would agree.

There is only one Faith of God. There is no difference between Aboriginal religious traditions, and Christianity or the Bahai Faith. All have finality, all have continuation.
