Do SDA believe they are the only religion getting saved?

Yes we believe that at the end the wicked will be eternally destroyed by fire falling down out of heaven to completely consume the wicked.

John 3:16 (King James Version)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

This means that only one group of people will have “everlasting life”–those who are saved. In order for the wicked to suffer for eternity the wicked would also have to have “everlasting life.” But, they won’t they will “perish.”
.
By what authority do you interpret your opinion on Scripture to be accurate?

Moreover, the Scripture you quoted does not support your claim that those who go to hell will be destroyed. Hell is for eternity. Where in the Bible does it say that a soul will only be in hell temporariy, before it is destroyed?

Sincerely,

Well, that hasn’t been proven either. We have evangelists who when witnessing to Catholics use the Douay version of the Bible to show what we believe and they are converted. Were they wrong?
.
The Adventist Church has an extremely high rate of members leaving the church compared to other churches. Moreover, from Adventist.org:news.adventist.org/data/2005/06/1120249432/index.html.en

“…nearly** 1.5 million left membership during the time period 2000 to 2005. ‘The bottom line for this quinquennium is that for every 100 accessions, more than 35 others decided to leave**,’ he told delegates. ‘That total is considerably more than the 24 subtracted for every 100 added as reported at our last session’ in 2000.”

In addition, as we can see at CAF, the Holy Spirit has led some of these Adventists home, to the Catholic Church.

Sincerely,

Note that none of the alleged false doctrines have been proven to be false. Some of them aren’t even doctrines! For what SDA’ really believe vs. someone’s say-so see: adventist.org/beliefs/fundamental/index.html

Every single one of our beliefs is based on Scripture as you will see when you click on the above link.
DJ - I read every one of the beliefs and looked up every one of the scriptures that are listed to support the beliefs. I suggest you do the same because the scriptures listed to support the beliefs in fact do not support the beliefs.

What has happened here is that the beliefs have been developed and then scripture has been many times take out of the context in which it was written and then used to support a particular belief.

Catholics do not read the bible in such a manner because it leads to wrong interpretation. Catholics read the bible as a whole with emphasis on Christ and the New Testament. We look at when the books were written and the historical, geographical background, etc of the author to discern what was really meant. In this manner you will not see Catholic beliefs that are developed and then verses listed to support them as you see in the Adventist Church.

Actually they have… you just havent accepted that proof as of yet… some people still believe in a flat earth…

Gong… every one of your beliefs is based on your INTREPRETATION of scripture. The Bible is is inanimate object, it does not teach, it must be interpreted. Therefore your beliefs ultimately are based on YOUR beliefs.
Some of what you listed aren’t doctrines and none of them have been proven to be false.
Such as?

I rely on Scripture vs. the false teachings of men.
Again, you rely on your private interpretation of scripture, not on scriptures themselves. If you place the Bible on a witness stand and ask it questions, guess what happens… nothing.

By what authority they teach these things is a mystery. They certainly are not Biblical. Yet, most Adventists argue that Scripture supports the above false doctrines. What they dont realize, is they are using a faulty interpretation of Scripture to reach these inaccurate conclusions. Yet when Catholics use a different interpretation of Scripture to support our beliefs, they say we are wrong. Which begs the question, whose authority do we follow when trying to best understand Scripture. I rely on the authority of the Church, rather than the authority of an individuals personal opinion.
Catholic follow the Magisterium of the Church. Adventists follow the “magisterium of Ellen White.”

Cute!

Then truth rears its ugly head and we realize it ain’t so!

See adventist.org/beliefs/fundamental/index.html and you’ll find that all our fundamental beliefs are based solely on the Bible.
I did go to the website and found this
One of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is prophecy. This gift is an identifying mark of the remnant church and was manifested in the ministry of Ellen. G. White . As the Lord’s messenger, her writings are a continuing and authoritative source of truth which provide for the church comfort, guidance, instruction, and correction.
. It is obvious that SDA beliefs are not solely based on the Bible.

DJ,
Again, your beliefs are based on your beliefs and interpretations about the Bible, which can be twisted to support nearly anything you want, as shown by the number of Protestant (which is how you identify yourself on your profile) denominations who also claim to base their beliefs all on scripture, yet contradict you in nearly all points.

I don’t twist anything and you haven’t proven that I have twisted anything. I read the Hebrew and the Greek that the Bible writers use; I don’t use flawed English translations and I don’t use EGW to find out what the Bible says.

You are correct. Not only that, but your quote claims her writings are based on truth, which is incorrect.
