Do they still bless throats at your parish?

Mine doesn’t and I wish they did…I guess it is one of those beautiful traditions we have lost

It makes me sorry and sad . We have lost so many beautiful things
 
At my TLM oratory we are having the blessing of throats tomorrow after Mass. I have not seen that done at my NO parish. I am looking forward to seeing what happens. I am learning so much about the Church just from going to the TLM oratory.
 
At the local NO parish, they did. I don’t know if they did at my EF parish I usually go to.

I saw on the marquee of one local parish that they were planning on doing that at the weekend Masses.
 
Same here. Mine offers the Ordinary Form of Mass, yet we’ve always retained the blessing of throats for the Feast of St. Blaise. 🙂
 
This past Sunday, before and after Mass, with 2 Priests and 1 Deacon.

I know a 'hypochondriac (undiagnosed probably)" who neglected to have her throat blessed Sunday. I mentioned it to her, and she went back to get it. I had said to her: “You just had a camera down your esophagus (for a spasm that we may all experiece … but it had scared her) but are *not *having your throat blessed?!”
 
Yes, my parish blessed the candles today during the Mass of the Presentation of Jesus (“Candlemas”) and they will be used tomorrow to bless the throats.
 
We’ve been doing it for ten years on the Feast of St. Blase. Is this a tradition from a specific culture or universal?

It’s been done in every parish I’ve belonged to and we did it today after the noon Mass.
I don’t think it is just a cultural tradition since I’ve had it done in Europe and Australia also on February 2.
 
Yep, tomorrow at the 7am and 12noon Masses. Been this way ever since I was a kid so I don’t think that any particular culture is involved.

No to the closest parish which is technicly my parish…

BUT they do it at a more traditional parish that i like to go to. Which is the only church that offers the EF of the Mass.

yes! we do. When I was in catholic elementary school, I remember the priests used to come to class and bless our throats. My mom suffers from allergies, and she gets hers blessed every year.
