don’t Anglicans have queens?
I guess if I was an Anglican I would care, but since I’m not I don’t. They have gay bishops too (or more accurately Episcopalians, part of the Anglican union) … so they’re pretty easy to pick on 😉

the Pope is perfect we just said when it comes to the word of God and scripture he is infallible.

“the Pope is preserved from even the possibility of error when he solemnly declares or promulgates to the Church a dogmatic teaching on faith or morals”

Does this definiion include Scripture…not necessarily…The Assumption is a good example…nowhere in Scripture…but given ex cathedra

:whacky:
You know what I don’t understand?
St. Paul is one of our greatest Saints and Martyr’s and for some strange reason, some non-Catholics don’t seem to think that we Catholics acknowledge him.
Where does that wacky line of reasoning come from?

The words “he is infalliable” aren’t really accurate. It should be “he teaches infalliblity.” He is guided by the Holy Spirit, as the successor to St. Peter. He isn’t perfect. Did you know that John Paul II went to confession three or more times a week? It just goes to show that even the pope is in need of Christ’s Grace.

If said in the proper context and read in the proper context though, it normally is said that he is infallible when teaching on faith and morals. Meaning he can’t err. The Holy Spirit teaches through him.

very true…they are running from the RC in droves…wonder why
Now thats the easiest one yet. Pure and simple they dont want to live according to the church they want to live the way of the world. They dont want to stay married they want to marry over and over again. They dont want to confess their sins, if they do that for goodness sakes they would have to admit they have sins, repent and turn away from sin, what fun would that be. They dont want to obey Gods words thats not fun. Thats also why more and more people who dont have the Faith of the Church are all on anxiety meds, because they dont go to the church and ask for Gods help. They want a pill they dont want to do it the hard way, and Gods way is the hard way, and its getting harder and harder every day, They want to read the bible and make it to what they want it to be, its easier that way, makes them feel good, i could go on and on and on. Dont listen to the Pope listen to yourself, thats the way of the world where you been, Turn away from the Church if you dont like this church go to the next one and then the next untill they tell you what you want to hear, Not what you need to hear, ANd then if you dont find the right church better yet start your own, Why not you can preach the word, Heck yeah dont you watch tv, Oprahs the talk of the town, dont believe everything you read step out of the box. think for yourself, AND THIS COMES FROM GOD YEAH RIGHT!

Thank you allhers. I was merely trying to reinerate that. People tend to think that when we say “infalliable” we mean “perfect about everything” and it’s annoying. But you explained it well. 🙂

one straight answer would be a nice start coach
If someone is addressing me, how about staying out of it? This and your disparaging of me by name across multiple thread topics has been reported. Time for you to grow up.It is obvious you have nothing substantial to contribute.

I know, I don’t understand either why one of them can’t just start a thread and ask ONE question at a time until they understand it, and only Catholics can answer them. That way, we could give them links, etc…that fully explain the teachings. This forever thread and posts of the same thing over and over is getting old.

Sad but true.

As usual Coach you make no sense. You cant dispute the truth but you try, I will do the Christian thing and walk away, But I made my point. And you did say one thing that was true, it is our Pope and church that Claim to have the fullness of the truth, and the proof to back it up. To everyone else thank you for trying God knows whats in our heart. and he know how much we love and admire our Great Lady, And I will pray the rest of my life and ask her to help me to be more like her. God knows i tried and failed today but there is always another place and time. God bless to all.

Rev, or coach… if you can’t answer the questions with your own beliefs, often with a simple yes or no… you disparage yourself.

There is no shame in saying that you might just not know the answer,

You have been asked, even begged, to just answer a question.

You avoid and avoid and avoid. It is not something that just I have commented on so stop the pity-party.

Other non-Catholics come here and state their beliefs as honestly as one can. You however have given nothing substantial to these threads.

No wonder that other posters have even asked you why you come here at all.

Personally, I hope you stick around… Catholics and non-Catholics alike can learn a lot from your non-answers.

SOME, just some, of what you say may be true…but much of it is nothing but over-generalizations and assumptions. Maybe they saw rotten fruit on the tree, and realized only good trees produce good fruit.

I answered many…MANY more than you did. That however, does not excuse the actions for which you have been reported. I have provided much, I am sorry if it was above your level of understanding.

I make perfect sense, you choose not to see it…you are blinded by what you are indoctrinated with. Your sincerity, however, was very clear, so be proud of that.

thecoach, I have an idea, why don’t you take a poll and ask all the non praticing Catholics why they left the Church?
You, being in the position you are in, would probably have a better idea of the answers, (but I can tell you that a lot of what rinnie posted is what I have heard over the years from non praticing Catholics for why they left).
Then you could start a thread that asks ONE question at a time about the things that your pole brings up. Hopefully, all the questions would be answered by praticing Catholics who know what they are talking about and could provide you with sources to back up what they are saying.
Would that be a good idea?

well you know youre right, I can only speak for myself…I wont generalize either. As far as one question at a time, it wasnt I who kept changing topics when they couldnt respond…my error was trying to answer so many…such a dialogue would be a good idea I think…and more profitable than how I did today!

I love it, every time I quote scripture showing why you guys are wrong, I get ignored (and the knights of Mary all gang up on the coach). The weakness of an argument shines brightest when red herrings and ad hom attacks start flying around like sand flies in a desert.

peace
