Okay. Councils of Hippo and Carthage. Godly men (also known as the some of the Early Church Fathers) met and (among other things) decided on a codified canon. Which notably contains Tobit, Judith, Maccabees, Wisdom, Sirach, Baruch, all of Daniel, and all of Esther. If you want godly men to choose books, why don’t you listen?

Those millions are mislead. First, you, by following the man Martin Luther and his 66 book bible, have only 91% of God’s written word.

Thus, you do not know that the Jewish High Priest Judas Maccabveus made sacrifice and prayed for the dead, so that they might be loosed from their sins (2 Maccabees 12:44-46).

In following the man-made (66 book) 'canon" of scripture, you do not know this.

Neither do you know what Jesus was talking about when he said that there are sins that will not be forgiven in this life or in the next.

If you are judged immediately upon dying, how will your sins be forgiven in the next life? (Matthew 12:32)

Paul wrote about the day of judgment and how a man whose work burned up will still be saved, but though espcaping therough fire. 1 Corinthians 3:15.

I’m fairly certain there’s something in scripture about praying for the dead. This seems to imply that there’s a Purgatory, as if souls were already in heaven or in hell, then there’d be no need to pray for them, because souls are in heaven and hell for eternity, and no prayer can set a soul free from hell, as hell is a definite decision made in this life.

I could be wrong. Set me right if I am.
