Ever since i have become a catechized and enthused Catholic, it seems the devil pays much more attention to me…:rolleyes:

i think he hates Catholics more than anyone …

do you agree??
Can you explain how you know the devil is paying more attention to you?

I feel you are absolutely right. Being a Sunday Catholic, I felt that I have never been attentive to the proceedings in the church, and I know its the devils doings which used to take me on a dream world trip during the service. It still happens to me, but when I attend services of others like born again christians etc, I have never felt that way. Bein

Being in an arab world minus churches, I have joined a group here and we do pray together and have HOly Bible study, but am never tempted with them.

So what does it mean? Why as a Catholic and when I attend the catholic church do i get tempted??

I feel you are right.

Yeah, he does all of this because we’re easy bait compared to Jesus, because he knows that Jesus already kicked his butt once, and he’ll kick it again on Judgement Day.
😃

yes… interesting that Satan seemed to have won against Jesus… but, as you say, instead he got his butt kicked…

now he’s angry and taking it out on Catholics… and other Christians…

are we there yet?? 😦

He hates and fears Christ. As Christ said, if His enemies call Him Beezlebul, then how much more will they hold His followers in contempt. I’ve noticed that in the world the leaders of even destructive or evil movements are given a certain respect, whereas their followers are often treated like so much dirt or cannon fodder. Examples are Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Kim Jong II, Bin Laden, Mussolini, Tojo, Saddam Hussein (think of all the trouble the Americans went to to give him a public trial, whilst killing thousands of his troops in bombing raids) and so on.

Therefore Satan hates all Christians, and will if he can try to load contempt on them. As far as that goes he hates the human race, even those who serve him. But they are not a threat to him. He will even lend them his power if it suits him eg. the Third Reich (that’s where it got it’s power and brilliance from). They pay for it later though. Yet one wonders what holds Hell and the demonic forces together, because it sure isn’t love.

However I think he is very concerned that Catholic truth should be suppressed, and that Christ’s call for Christian unity should be suppressed. Hence the office of the Pope in particular is singled out for attack, not only by non-Christian enemies, but also by those who follow Christ, and who fail or refuse to see the implications of Christ’s promise to Peter. As a former Protestant, rest assured the toughest battle on the road to reunification will center on the Chair of Peter.

As for individual Christians, Satan’s efforts are to some extent tailored to hit hardest those whom he thinks are the greatest and most effective threat. And that will not depend on their denomination. He is most detemined to destroy those who he perceives as dangerous to him.
very good post… 🙂

i think i am going to copy it if you don’t mind (minus your Handle)…

i esp like the 1st line, that he hates Christ. That’s something we Followers need to remember, that it is Christ he hates and so it is Christ we must (of course) use as a weapon… one reason i LOVE the rosary… So focused on Jesus Christ… His life in this world… The rosary is what made me a devout Christian… and then later i taught myself the catechism… and became a devout Catholic… revert.

if i told you all the ways in which Satan attacked me when i 1st prayed the rosary about 16 yrs ago… you probably wouldn’t even believe some of it… Even i have a hard time beliving sometimes… that such things can happen in the US of A… etc… VERY wild story…

but of course, he didn’t stop attacking 16 yrs ago by a long shot…

the strange thing is… well, i guess its not strange… God just uses him… so it seems to me… I try to remember the book of Job and how he lost everything but first the devil had to go before God to get permission to attack him. I wwould assume that is the case with us “Jobs” today… (?). since God is no respecter of persons…?

From reading St. Faustina’s diary, I would think that the devil most hates people great in prayer, who save other soul by their prayers. And so he hates very greatly saints and cloistered sisters who spend their lives in prayer for others. That said, there are holy people who are not Catholics who pray much with effect too, and the devil can only hate such people much for saving others from hell.
But Satan must hate all good people, and often fights people on their way away from him. This does not mean that he hates them most, but rather he hates anyone who serves God.
Some satanists foolishly think satan is their ally and on their side. But when they die, I am afraid they will see how friendly he is then.
i think sometimes we christians shy away from praying for such persons… After all, who wants to even think of the sins they commit?? and who wants to invite satan to attack THEM by such praying???

but we must… we must pray the worst sinners… offer sacrifices for them… That last is something i forget t o do these days… so thanks for the reminder… 🙂

sounds like my own conversion. the devil did all he could to keep me from the church. from the spiritual to the phisycal. and it has been a constant battle ever since. keep strong. we have a Christ made Church that the gates of hell will not prevail against. also so many helps ( the rosary, stations of the cross, the intercession of the sts. as well as so many other catholics who are right with you. the more you stand up for the Lord and His Church, the more you will come under fire. rejoice because the world hated Jesus before it ever hated you. dont get discouraged. keep the faith. love in Christ my friend:crossrc:
thanks for you kind words… (kinda rare here on CAF, dont ya think??) :o

i have had some strange moments when i “lost” faith temporarily… but those words don’t adequately say waht happened… i didn’t lose it… i just… got very angry with God and even felt like i hated him (this weird thing happened and it just seemed that he hated me… long story)… Anyway… just when you think the devil has no more tricks up his sleeve!!! Wham!!

it never ends… but anyway, i don’t want to talk about that … uh… you know who anymore…

The devil despises humanity in general.

Your best weapon against him is prayer. Praying the psalms in particular. He hates that.
😃

just sounds kinda funny…

I wouldn’t have guessed the Psalms would be the one he hates most… or whatever…

they used to be my favorite psgs… until i started going to daily Mass and now i know so many psgs i don’t know which to choose as favorites… "it’s all good " as they say…

what’s your spiritual story??

I have always wondered why our brothers and sisters who believe in a doctrine of OSAS claim to be tempted by anyone, Satan included. What would be the point of Satan wasting his time like that if they are saved no matter what? Seems common sense Satan would see that acceptance of Christ and go look elsewhere for souls he could steal.
if that wre the case, why does he pick on me??

yeah, it is kinda strange to hear osas’ers say t hey are tempted by the devil… Why don’t they just do whatever??

because they instinctively KNOW osas is not true… that’s why…

Dear distracted,

Yes, look at all the Saints.
St Pio battled the Devil physically all of the time and got so beat up.
So to some, more so than others, but I believe the closer you are to God, the more attacks come, whether be emotional, spiritual, mental, physical.

The Devil doesnt care much about those outside the Church, well even those lukewarm Catholics, or liberals, because he has already got them.

I will pray for you distracted, you are a warrior for Christ!
God bless you abundantly!

Peace of Christ,
thank you so much. Your words are soothing… particuarly after some of the stuff i have had to deal with here @ CAF!!! yikes! 🙂

yes, he particularly has been bothering me lately… but i don’t want to say exactly how because someone may recognize my situation and i will be “out of the closet” 😃

suffice it to say that i have been to Hell (sorta) lately… Strange 'cus i was already in Hell… i thought… 🤷

anyway, God bless… 🙂

Can you explain how you know the devil is paying more attention to you?
well, i have been in virtual Hell for … ever since i 1st started praying the rosary yrs a go. but it is only “hell” circumstantially and some other ways… becasue, as you probably know, a Christian who really loves Jesus is never abandoned entirely to Hell, figuratively speaking or otherwise…

if i say exactly all the evil he has put on me, someone may recognize my story and i would then no longer be anonymous… I don’t believe God wants that so suffice it to say that i have had kind of a Job-esque existence for quite some time… but hey… we are to pick up our crosses and carry them… hopefully without whining too much… 😃

does this answer your question??

very interesting…

one time i got mad at my priest (happens a lot… If you only KNEW… but that’s a different story)… and i went to a non-denom church… I didn’t feel one bit attacked by the devil… it is hard to say HOW i felt, exactly… but one thing i know i felt was the lack of the Real Presence… and so i left… i was disturbed not by what was there but what was not…

and plus i just didn’t feel “at home”… kinda strange… so i know somewhat how you feel… Some of the most godawful things have happend to me in the Catholic Church… some of the most awful people are there, i have to say… not trying to be hateful but… i seem to alienate some Catholics… have no idea why… i am a little different because i… well, it could be because i have been “born again”… ?? and they sense i am different… i dont know… but anyhow…

there are a lot of mysteriies in life… Some day we can ask God about all this stuff… i can’t wait to ask all my questions… As soon as i get inside the Gate, my 1st words will be:

***God: WHY…!!! ***

Good question!

Jon
and the answer to the question (How do i know the devil is bothering me more now that i am a catechized CAtholic) is:

because nonCatholics on CAF are Always and forever picking on me…

(some Catholics too)

i disagree… he hates those who most love Christ… and so there are some protestants who love Jesus more than some Catholics do… so i guess that is it more than being Catholic…

still… Catholics have weapons non-Cs dont… the rosary, the Mass, confession…

my life has gotten VERY strange since i became a devout Catholic… broken relationships… etc…

i am not complaining because i know that the devil is controlled by God… which explains why i get mad at God when things don’t go “right”…
Don’t worry about how much the Devil hates you or anyone else. Worry only if you are living a good Christian life, loving God with all of your heart, serving the church, and loving and serving your fellow humans. When we keep our focus on God the hate of the Devil does not matter. If you feel angry at God for how life is at the moment then I would suggest reading the book of Job. Instead of getting angry pray to God and thank him for all of the good days to come.
by the way, have you ever had the scary expreince of feeling you didn’t love God anymore?? i have… and it was very scary… :hmmm: (caused by something that happened…)
Yes, I know the feeling very well. I was raised Catholic but I went through a period of serveral years as an atheist. I thought I wanted to be a man of reason and logic but behind the reason and logic I was just hollow and empty. During my atheist period I was a graduate student at The Catholic University of American but instead of enjoying the fellowship of so many other Catholics I spend my time looking down on them. It was a hard road back but thankfully I found my way back to the love of God.

Remember that no matter what God puts before you to endure he loves you.

The “power” of Satan, expressed in sin and in our sinful lives, was laid low by Christ on the Cross.

Certainly the devil hates the Cross, and was not happy with the instructions to the Church to preach Christ Crucified.

The Catholic Church preaches Christ Crucified.

Also, the devil attacks our priests like nothing else. He hates the ministerial priesthood found only in the Catholic Church. Our priests confect the Eucharist. If he can destroy all the priests, he destroys the Eucharist. No priests, no Eucharist. No Eucharist, no Church.

So… the answer is yes… for at least these two reasons.

A third reason might be that he knows it is the Church … the Catholic Church, for there is no other… which will cause his own destruction.

thanks…

i never stay mad at God very long. Of course, now that i have said that the devil is going to really pull one on me… that’s the way it goes with Mr Pitchfork…

yes, it is hard to remember God loves us when everything seems to be going awry… or even when just one seemingly small thing is not going our way… (I’m spoiled… :().

i guess its not a small thing per se but a small thing on top of numeours other small things… kinda = a big thing sometimes… or so we spoiled humans think… feel.

anyhow… where was i ??? i probably need to go grab some food… When my blood sugar goes down i am not … at my best… haven’t eaten anything for a long time… i always do this to myself…

anyway… enoyed your post. God bles.s…🙂

thanks for th uplifting post… 🙂
i needed that reminder about priests… i need to pray for them more often than i do.

i used to want to be a priest… which is funny when you realize i am female… but still… i always thoght it would be SO awesoem to be a priest…

and we are all priests anyhow… just not all ministerial priests… still… i sometimes still long to be in that role… No, i don’t believe in women priests. If Jesus had wanted women Apostles he would have chosen one… at which point he would have been immediately crucified, of course… rather than later… But then, i don’t know… he had women followers…

hmmm… anyway, again, i probably need to go grab some food or java or something… i always push myself too far on too little fuel… 😦

So, you feel like these problems in your life are caused directly by Satan? Your answer doesn’t prove that to me, but it tells me that you feel that to be the case.
