Do you agree with this man's exegesis? He says sinners just die...

He messed up after only a few minutes.
Here’s a paraphrase of what he said:* “Set aside cherished traditions and refer only to the Word of God.”*

At that point I knew that there was no point in listening any further. If you willingly separate yourself from the Church’s Tradition you cannot hope to have an authoritative interpretation of scripture.
 
the Jehovah Witnesses believe Hell is the “common grave of mankind”… but i don’t think this guy is JW

How can anyone professing to know the bible believe this stuff?

Jesus said that those who don’t care for HIS needs (the needs of his brethren on EArth) will go to “eternal punsihment” (st Mt 25:31) he spok of weeping and wailing and grinding of teeth (never did u/stand that last one… :confused:)

Does that sound like simple death?

death is final… there is no eternal nature to it… so why would Jesus describe death as eternal punishment? he wouldn’t

except that some have called Hell eternal death…

i went to a website once, called… Spirit.com… and they speak of this eternal death… apparently this woman went into Hell… her name was (something) baxter… she said she actually was taken to Hell by Jesus… this is hard to believe but nothing in her story (far as i can tell) contradicts scirpture or Catholic teaching…

unless i am blind or soemthing…

that was my thought… but i kept listening anyhow… like a fool… 😃

ok… so not exactly foolish to hear someone out… .but it was hard to listen to cuz i knew it was a bunch of … uh… nonsense… He seems to be overlooking St Mt 25:31 and a whole host of other passages…

i just don’t get it how people who claim to love the bible so much… get it SO SO wrong!!!

that always has boggled my mind…

I’ve read the entire bible… and the overall theme thereof seems to be that if you go against God in any way you are doomed…

Ok, that’s not the most poetic way to put things… but still… God did terrible things to the Isrealites when they defied Him… disobeyed…

if that’s not Hell, waht is??

why would not punish evil after death also… I mean a lot of very wicked people get away with a LOT of evil in this life… To believe they get away with things foreverr is to disbeliev in God’s perfect justice…

I listened to the entire video (I really need to find a summer job 😊 ). Pack is an off-shoot of Herbert W. Armstrong’s Worldwide Church of God. WCA and it’s splinters are non-trinitarian, and therefore, technically neither Christian nor Protestant. They are also Sabbatarians. The video implies, though I may be wrong, that Pack rejects the incarnation, and obviously the IC.
I haven’t heard the entire video, but so far, this guy contradicts the Catholic teachings on Hell… (the saints, etc)

Well, I’m not going to join you in casting personal aspersions, since I have an acquaintance who is a member of this or a similar WCG splinter, and he is a smart, scripturally well-read person. But I will say that you are correct in that their theology is only mildly recognizable to the vast majority Christians.

sorry to disagree (or am I?? hmm… :hmmm::hmmm:) but i don’t think its too smart to believe this stuff… IF … big IF you really KNOW … big KNOW… the Bible…

i mean if you read the whole thing you will see that… God hates sin and punsihes evil doers and Jesus speaks of eternal Hell… not eternal dead-ness… Who cares about dead-ness? you are free from pain… asleep forever… no prob…

I did keep listening to hear if Pack would comment on Jesus’ parable of the rich man and Lazarus. 🤷

EDIT: I don’t think we disagree, I just choose to avoid making comments about people’s intellegence.
