…Your body is not some shell in which you inhabit, your body is you.
Exactly!
…Your body is not some shell in which you inhabit, your body is you.
But I’m not just my body, which will one day turn into nothing more than a bunch of dust: “for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return” (Genesis, 3:19).Which doesn’t make much sense. Your body is not some shell in which you inhabit, your body is you.
But do we know what these raise bodies will be like? Will these raised bodies look just like the old ones with the same face, a full head of hair or a bald head or brown hair or blonde hair or blue eyes, or a Roman nose, or a small nose, etc., etc.? Does it even say in Scripture that these raised bodies will have a particular sex?We are made up of body and soul.
While this body will return to dust, for those who die in friendship with God it will be raised incorruptible. We will be again united with a body for all eternity.
That is true, but nevertheless your material body is still you, as is your eternal soul. But I’m not just my body, which will one day turn into nothing more than a bunch of dust: “for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return” (Genesis, 3:19).
Reading these may help. Msgr Pope does mention that we shouldn’t concern ourselves too much as to the ‘finer details’.But do we know what these raise bodies will be like? Will these raised bodies look just like the old ones with the same face, a full head of hair or a bald head or brown hair or blonde hair or blue eyes, or a Roman nose, or a small nose, etc., etc.?
