Do You Believe in Hell?

**We are not served hell to our convenience a la carte.
Hell had been created far, very far off heaven, for those former angels who staged protests against God – even wanted to be like God.

Those among us, who do wrong in violation against the souls of others, consequently offend God, just like Satan – later called Lucifer, did in heaven.

When Jesus, when God sais, that some sins NEVER will be forgiven, then these sins are not covered and wiped out through the salvation of Jesus Christ - never will be forgiven.

Surprising, that too many read the bible like a menue card and pick what they like best, assuring this or that to alter to ones convenience.

Let’s be sure, that the Bible has to be taken textual and is not matter of our arbitrariness.

None of us can stand up before God and demand things ones own way. It all goes Gods way and we are well advised to pray YOUR WILL BE DONE not ours, for ours is of fatally narrow angle of vision.

let’s just match Luke 12:10 - Mat 12:32 and Marc 3:12 and let’s neither forget Mat 18:6

Jesus did speak very clear words.**
 
Jesus came to RESCUE US from sin,his was a rescue mission,there are plenty of scripture passages that insinuate ALL will be saved,so Bruno is right people pick and choose what they want to believe in scripture,anyone wants to believe in eternal hellfire thru their choosing of these scriptures that may suggest that,have at it, for me I choose to believe" THAT AS IN ADAM ALL DIE,EVEN SO IN CHRIST SHALL ALL BE MADE ALIVE (1 COR 15:22) " THAT AT THE NAME OF JESUS EVERY KNEE SHOULD BOW,OF THINGS IN HEAVEN,AND THINGS IN EARTH,AND THINGS (UNDER THE EARTH)AND EVERY TONGUE WILL CONFESS THAT JESUS IS LORD" (PHIL 2:9-11) I believe that many may have to go thru hell to get to heaven but that is a purifying fire and not eternal. In CHRIST.

“But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, THOSE WHO BELONG TO HIM.”

We all know, as Jesus told us, that many do not belong to Him.

We also know what Jesus told us about hell, and He never spoke about purifying hell, but eternal hell, so among very many others in Matthew 18:8

Let’s not diffract the holy words of God to our convenience.

I didn’t pick anyone to quote, because many of you made fine observations on your own. I was invited here by my friend Bruno. He asked me not to mention that I personally believe that Protestants are doomed to Hell “only” because Jesus commanded us all to eat His body and drink His blood! No ifs ands or buts! His disn’t recommend it! He demanded it! Many Protestants drink grape juice, they might as well eat Oreos! for all the good it is doing their eternal souls! Anyway I won’t mention that! 😃 "Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. I am what is called a Powerful Catholic. We are a small group of believers who attempt to save others from dying believing they are saved when they are foolishly condemning themselves to hell due to their false beliefs. We do this out of love. We respect all people but are fearless in telling people they are condemning themselves to hell! We owe it to them! God loves them how could we do less? Jesus has one body! It is 2,000 years old not one of 61,000 counterfeit denominations or subdenominations made since 1517AD! :rolleyes:

Reference Hell. Boy do I believe in Hell! That is why I came here. I believe: To be with God is Heaven, to not be with God is Hell!

Do you realize there isn’t any COLD? What you call cold is the absense of heat or warmth. Absolute cold is without any heat! Also there is no DARK? Dark is the absense of Light! Absense of any light whatsoever is absolute darkness. Hate is the absense of Love. Illness is the absense of health.

If you sin you are “apart from God”, the more you sin, the farther apart you become from the Father. Therefore the darker gets your soul. Hell is the complete and total absense of God! :eek:

For the guy that doesn’t believe in an after life ~ myfoolish friend, a wise man once said " I rather live my life as if there was a God, and later find out I was wrong, then live my life like there wasn’t a God and find out there was!" C.S Lewis said it another way: Aim at Heaven and you get earth thrown in. Aim at earth and you get neither.” Christians of any denomination have more peaceful deaths than non-believers. there have been several studies on that! Want a peaceful death? Start believing in God and an afterlife! Jesus promised it to us. He would not lie!

One of my personal heros Mahatma Ghandi said “It it weren’t for Christians, I’d be a Christian.” We talk the talk and we say how much God loves us all. But if you really believe, I mean really believe would you be living your life differently then you are right now? Would you practice what your preach more?

I would hope your answer is “No”! Mine is! I do the best I can giving my limitations. Of course, I am not perfect, I only love Jesus and our church! I don’t claim to have any answers at all except I do know that Jesus is the way! And the surest way to Jesus is through the RCC! Will non-catholics be in Heaven? Sure! Will Catholics be in Hell? Sure! Who will judge? GOD and God alone.

I will have Jesus as my mediator when I am being judged. he promised that to each of us, if we follow His teachings! Also I hope His mother reminds Him of all the good I attempted to do, even when I failed as we all so often do. Hopefully that will be enough for me to obtain everlasting life with God and the rest of you fine folks!

Remember: God loves everyone, but probably prefers “fruits of the spirit” over “religious nuts!”😃

Do you think God loves Hitler, Stalin, Saddam and other followers of Satan? Even those Jesus mentioned in Math 18:6?

In the truest meaning of the word “Love” ~ YES!

I believe God loves everyone! Do I believe that because of that Love He won’t send them to damnation? NO! God will judge them and they will get what He feels is their deserves!

But,only God judges! I am a gambling man! I would bet a bundle on eternal damnation for Hitler, Stalin, Saddam and other followers of Satan!

For everything there is an opposite, it provides balance

God - Devil

heaven - Hell

Yes, I do believe in Hell. Just the thought of being separated from God to me is Hell. Forget the fire, forget the brimstone, to be apart from God, now that is Hell. I shiver to even think it. :bigyikes:

**Purgatory is never mentioned in the Bible. Still; the alignment of the Scriptures points at it, and many verses must be interpreted as such place.

Hell however, is clearly outspoken and warned of, by Jesus Christ.
Whoever tells hell doesn’t exist, sets Jesus in the rank of a oriental storyteller.

At least 12 steads of the New Testament clearly describe the verity of hell, even moreover so, as an ETERNAL place.
Please, match the following:
Mat 5,22; 5,29-30; 10,28; 18,9; 23,15; 23,33; Marc 9,43; 9,45; 9,47; Luke 12,5; 2Peter 2,4; James 3,6.

In the Old Testament solely Job 11,8 mentions hell as place of the condemned – as in 2. Peter 2,4 described, and by Jesus in many parables described as eternal fire, gloom and bleakness, gnawing worm. Same we find in Revelation; fiery Slough of Despond (Revelation 19,20; 20,10; 20,14-15).

Don’t let anybody tell you, all this, written down forever in the Holy Bible, is untrue.

Same people would tell you; you should interpret the Bible to your own conveniences – which many do, but one day, they will have to face the truth. It’ stood there – all their life, but they didn’t realize, as they simply didn’t like what they read, and so formed it to their liking.

I fear you are right about that.
Guess all we can do is pray people wake up and see the consequences of voting for those who are ignoring their consciences.
There has also been speculation that this might have been the last election. I fear it’s possible. The Left could easily create a ‘crisis’ in which Obama just ‘has’ to stay in office for more than 2 terms. Usual gameplaying.
People really do need to wake up and listen to the Church–not the media, Democrats and related.

Again it would be interesting to hear, if this forum has brought many readers a better view of all holy things that concern us.
I’d suggest a new polling agenda concerning these questions. 😃

“Hell” here and now – referring the national political and economic situation, ridicules the real meaning of HELL as Jesus revealed it. OK; one might speak of “hell” in some African states where murder and slaying innocent, like the previous jamming women and children into a church and then set this church on fire, is present everyday life, - or concentration camps in Africa, where children-soldiers are trained to kill. But let’s not picture western chaos as hell. Compared to the mentioned situations, we live amidst the paradise, and let’s thank God for this!

You make excellent points.
I would say,however, that we could end up with forced abortions, people being denied medical treatment and left to die, much persecution against Catholics and other Christians, etc. etc. and it would seem a type of ‘hell.’ in the not-so-distant future. “It ain’t over yet.” Give Obama 4-5 years to implement the extremism and you might have an entirely different scenario; one which indeed resembles a type of ‘hell’.
I do like what you said, however. Great points to consider.
 
Just to clarify my previous post: I’m not saying forced abortion, etc will DEFINITELY happen, but it is very likely that with nat’l healthcare run by gov’t, people do end up dying because they may be elderly, handicapped, etc.The gov’t decides who is ‘worthy’ of receiving treatment. And with Obama’s radical proabort stance, things could go crazy. We do need to be in prayer about all this, and pray politicians start to follow God and not their selfish wants.
