I notice you chose this on the eve on the Eve of Our Lord’s Resurrection. Be aware that Satan is tempting you to this as he tries harder during Lent and on holy days. Ignore him and come back home, Holly.

I second this. Please come home to Holy Mother Church where only the fullness of God truth can be found.

Goodness Holly you changed religions again.I do worry for you constantly changing from Catholic to a range of other denominations.Take good care of yourself

I hope you are well and God bless you with whatever you do
Holly, weren’t you just talking about converting to Wicca not more than 2 months ago?

You said you weren’t happy with Catholicism for a week…that’s not long. I am rather concerned for you. Have you been speaking to a priest about any of this? Do you see a counsellor? It’s not really “normal” to convert as often as you seem to be. I am not judging your deicision, but your motives. If you are going to walk away from Christ who gives eternal life and live, and his church, it shouldn’t be done on a whim of a week.

Heck, it took me almost 3 years to battle out switching between Assemblies of God to Catholicism, and that’s a smaller leap to make than changing deities altogether…

Well, I honestly don’t think that any “devil” or “demon” is tempting me or anything. I honestly don’t believe in such any more. I believe that I found out the truth of how to attain true happiness and so I am following that path. 🙂

Holly, I am going to say this again and you really need to think about this:

SInce I have known you you have been catholic, atheist, agnostic, mormon, buddhist, baptist, liberal christian, Islam, Anglo-Catholic, and Pentecostal.

I’ve been you bounce betwee fornication is not a sin to it is, abortion is wrong then right, and so on.

I’d like to point out that this isn’t normal. You really need to find some solid direction.

I’d also like to point out that when you aren’t following God in the catholic church, you are miserable. Your happiest posts are when you are in the catholic church.

You really need to find a good priest that you can talk to and get this stuff straightened away. I also think you need to see a counsellor or mental health professional and figure out who YOU are first and foremost.

First of all, I am perfectly aware of the fact that I often switch religions and how that is not normal. I have been on a search for the true path to happiness for a long time and I believe I have found that path this time. I know that you probably won’t take me seriously since I have changed my religion so frequently in the past but that is your choice. I respect that choice although I disagree with it.

Second, I don’t see how I have been happier when in the Catholic Church. I am often quite miserable being a Catholic.

Third and finally, I already see a mental health professional and a therapist. I have also talked to priests about my temptations in the past. The priests never seem to be able to help much.

Go back and read your blog. It’s there to how you how you feel when you can’t remember. When you post about your experiences in the Catholic church, you talk about joy, peace, miracles, and profound love. When you are in other faiths, you change back in less than a week and during that week you are talking about suicide, hopelessness, and intense anger. This isn’t me talking by the way, it’s you. Go back and read them.

May I ask a question of you. In bold print at the end of your posts you have something that has to do with the Catholic Church “…Wherever Jesus is, there is the Catholic Church.” or something like that. If you are so unhappy with the Catholic Church then why do you still have that at the bottom of your posts?

I forgot to change it. :o

There have been times when I have been happy as a Catholic and times when I have been miserable as a Catholic. I admit that. However, I honestly don’t think that looking at my past is going to change the fact that I am happier as a Buddhist.

If you want to have a chance at bringing me back to the Catholic Church, it is best to try and show me how Buddhism is wrong. If you want to do that, feel free to post it in my thread here.

Unfortunatly I’m, not going to try to win you back. If this were a logical discussion I would try to do that. Instead, this is an emotional problem. I honestly believe only God can really speak to you anymore. Holly, there was one day you changed religion THREE times, between THREE extremes. I am praying for your confusion to end, and that you get back to the Catholic Church where you show so much happiness and joy, rather than suicide attempts and broken hearts.

I’ve been in CAF for a while, not as long as most, but I do have to say that this is the most wide-spread variety of religious adventurism I’ve seen! I’ve wavered between Anglican and Catholic more times than I care to say, but wow, this makes me feel more well-adjusted than ever? Mormon, baptist, Islam!? Those three alone are quite a jump…maybe she’s grabbing something from each like a travel channel buffet?

Mormonism: new bicycle/helmet, eternal marriage
Baptist: Awanas membership
Islam: get to sneak into Mecca without being arrested, wear a burka
Liberal Christian: get a divorce from the guy you eternally married as a Mormon
Buddhist: Incense, orange robes, exotic locales
**Pentecostal: **wear your hear down to your waist, speak in tongues
Atheist: cut your hair from the Pentecostal thing, ahhh screw it
Agnostic: you start rethinking cutting your hair, you’re not sure if it’s wrong or right?
Anglo Catholic: great Mass without the Novus Ordo junk
Catholic: you feel guilty for all the things you’ve done in all these former religions, plagued with guilt you go to confession constantly, sell the orange robes, try to get back with the Mormon guy you divorced, cancel the Awanas membership, sell the bicycle out of intense guilt, put the burka up on Ebay, burn your pictures from the Buddhist locales, donate the incense to a Tridentine rite church

What religions will come next? Ba’hai? Scientology? Mithra worship? Zoroastrianism? Elvis? Michael Jackson? Jim Jones 2?..

Fair enough. May I ask you another question. What is this true happiness you found and how does your religion now make you truly happy?
You may ask as many questions as you like Rev Kevin. 🙂

In answer to your question, this true happiness I have found is very hard to define. All I know is that I feel peace now and I better understand the world that I live in. Buddhist teachings help to make me happy by showing me the path to happiness.

Anyway, instead of me answering a ton of questions for you about Buddhism, I will link you to a page with some basic information about Buddhism. It will be quicker and easier that way. Not that I don’t want to answer questions. 😉

Look, I realize how many times I have changed religions and I know that there have been times when I changed my religion several times in one day. That is beside the point. The point that I am trying to make to you is that I am happy and at peace now. I better understand the world that we live in as well. I respect your beliefs and I respect your religion as well. I also respect your opinion about me even though I do not think that my changing my religion to Buddhism this time was an emotional problem.

I mean no ill will towards you but your post is very offensive to me. Perhaps you could try a little more charity in your next post?

Hey Holly,

Just trying to liven things up. You do have to be able to laugh at yourself once in a while, right? I do it all the time. We all take ourselves too seriously sometimes. This is more religions in one person than all the people I know in my entire life’s worth of religions? I don’t think I know one person from each one of those groups and you’ve managed to jump to all those in such a short amount of time? Just trying to keep it light. Sorry if I offended.

Holly thank you for these links I will look at them. Don’t think that I’m going to belittle you or anything like that because I won’t. I really hope you have found true happiness now. From what I have heard here in the past few posts that you had some trouble in the past and that’s ok everyone has troubles in the past and in the present. I hope that these troubles are all behind you and your outlook on life is much better then before.

Look, I realize how many times I have changed religions and I know that there have been times when I changed my religion several times in one day. That is beside the point. Mental illnesses like this always bring up paradoxical theological problems. Is there truly a moral and spiritual dilemma driving the identity disturbances that people with Borderline personality manifest, or can you simply say that there is nothing more to frequent religious conversions than a dysfunctional limbic system in the brain?

If it is a spiritual or moral problem, then is the problem the beliefs themselves, or is the problem a lack of integrity and commitment to growing closer to God through whatever belief system one has chosen? Because in the case of Borderline personality, the functions of the personality that integrate the inner world of will and understanding are not able to apprehend the outer world of belief systems and moral codes with anything except superficiality.

What they “believe” about the outer world is nothing more than a shadow of what they are feeling today. There is a disconnect between the personality and longterm belief that makes true conversion and maturity and change almost impossible. How do we categorize a person like this from a spiritual perspective?

I don’t think we have good answers to those questions. What is the most basic thing that will matter in the end, when the person who has this condition faces God?

I forgive you. And yes, I do need to be able to laugh at myself from time to time. However, I just took your post to be rather offensive. I apologize if I misunderstood the intention of your post.
