The use of holy water is not “superstitious”. It is a blessed sacramental, the use of which is encouraged by the Catechism. See CCC 1668.I think that holy water fonts are septic (dirty) and I don’t use them. So, NO, I don’t do a superstitious thing like dousing myself with holy water.
Whether it’s necessary to dump a handful on your head rather than just cross yourself with a fingerful is a topic for discussion, and you are also free not to use the holy water in whatever way. However, we don’t call Church-approved sacamentals “superstitious”. It’s disrespectful (At the very least - I actually thought like the previous poster that it bordered on blasphemous also) and shows an ignorance of why we do what we do.
