Do you go to your church on Christmas day?

or there is not even a service at your church?

I remember the first Christmas I spent with my hubby and in-laws. Christmas fell on a Saturday, so Friday night we went to Mass, Christmas morning we went to Mass and then on Sunday we went again to Mass. I commented to my new MIL that “you Catholics go to church more often than we Mormons even do!”. I couldn’t believe it that everyone went to church. If Christmas doesn’t fall on a Sunday, there is no service in Mormonism. At least when I grew up there wasn’t.

I’m getting ready to go to our Midnight Mass soon. I’m in the Bell choir and it is such a highlight of the year. ALMOST as wonderful as the Triduum. One of my daughters is an altar server this year and my hubby is a Eucharistic Minister.

That is one advantage you Popesters have over us Wesleyites!
We had our Christmas Service yesterday and church will be locked tighter than a drum on the morrow.

How sad for you. Tomorrow morning at 9:30 PST I will be praising the Lord Jesus with 1500 of my closest friends at mass!

Christmas Eve not Christmas day, just got back. But like Catholics having Mass on Saturday instead of Sunday, I do not see much of a difference. It was all about Christmas.

Our Christmas Service at church yesterday was beyond sad to say the least, a little girl of eleven months whom attended our church passed away from a brain tumor this past week so our Christmas joy was laced with a great deal of sadness and prayers for her family and for children in general. A very sad service especially for those of us who have little ones 😦

I am sorry to hear about the lost at your parish.
We have a day to remember the lost one right after the 25th. We do this every Christmas.

I went to midnight Christmas Mass and Daytime Christmas Mass. I was a reader at the midnight Mass. It was great. We have a large number of people there. Mostly Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Airmen, civilians, and Iraqis.
 
We are 'Wesleyan" - and have a service at midnight with traditional readings, carols, and eucharist.

I agree with that but it seems our Congregational Methodist Church has taken to offering Communion only at Easter. I wonder if I should point out that quote by Father Wesley to my minister?

You might also remind him that Father Wesley held the evangelical and the sacramental on an equal plane. And that Wesley himself partook of the eucharist several times a week. “Those who have neglected the sacrament have done so to the detriment of their souls.”

Wesley’s beef with the Anglican Church wasn’t in the sacraments - it was that they had become dead and neglected the poor.

Of course i go to church , hoping to find place! if i don’t, i go to another, and another, and usually end up standing outside in the cold 😛

I agree with that 100%
I love my church by do wish the Communion was more often, If I wanted frequent Communion the only choices in my area are a small Hispanic Catholic Church where mass in in Spanish and the Church of Christ, I don’t really think I would feel comfortable or welcome in either one.

I went to Mass on Christmas Eve (Vigil Mass). My church had 3 Masses today, but I did not go since I went yesterday.
 
We had 6 Masses between Christmas Eve and today, and I went to Midnight Mass, as I almost always do. On the way home from my family Christmas celebration, I stopped by the Adoration chapel for some quiet time before the Blessed Sacrament. The chapel is open 24/7, although you have to have the combination to get in if it’s locked.
 
I hope everyone had a great Christmas.

This was an issue last year, when the whole “War against Christmas” was making headlines. Some of the Secular Humanist types pointed out that the large mega-churches, and many Protestant churches of the smaller sort, were closed on this holy day.
