Do you honestly believe that voting for someone pro life and anti same-sex marriage will make a difference?

What’s loving about giving up? I’m not willing to give the prince of lies any passive support, and that’s what happens when good people do nothing at the polls.
When God asks me on the last day if I embraced the culture of LIFE…I will be able to say YES!
It wasn’t so long ago that people in many nations didn’t have the ability to vote their conscience.
We can’t ever take it for granted.

Yes, you can split up your time and try to do both, but the fight to end abortions and same-sex marriages from within the political arena is likely to be vain. Better, I think, to light a candle and share your love.
So you suggesting we don’t vote or are you suggesting that it’s okay to vote for pro-abortion candidates as it doesn’t matter?

No, not suggesting anything like that. It’s just where I’m at presently. Politics just seems so empty to me… especially in comparison to what I sometimes “see” from engaging in Contemplative Prayer. My main point was to let readers “see” how futile much of the political world really is; facing up to reality.

We have made great progress in Texas. And if we distance ourselves from the political process we will get crushed like a grape. Did you know, for instance that the very first action Obama as president was to allow funding f overseas abortion providers? Also recall the Democrat effort to shut down CPCs. Blocked only by pro-life Republicans like then congressman Delay.

Robert, I couldn’t disagree with you more. As I said in an earlier post great political things are happening in Texas and Louisianna. We absolutely must keep voting for good prolife & pro traditional marriage candidates in state and local government. Living in California I can see why you would be depressed about these issues but never give up on the babies!!

I know you believe your post to be positive, but it’s really sad. And wrong to use the forum to influence people to throw up their hands in the voting process.
The one thing that Christ teaches us is to have HOPE.
Christians are a sign of that hope. We must never simply way “what’s the use?”
It’s fatalistic and wrong.
“Reality” can be changed. People’s hearts are softened all the time.
BE the change you want to be…isn’t that the common phrase?

We encourage all citizens, particularly Catholics, to embrace their citizenship not merely as a duty and privilege, but as an opportunity meaningfully to participate in building the culture of life. Every voice matters in the public forum. Every vote counts. Every act of responsible citizenship is an exercise of significant individual power. We must exercise that power in ways that defend human life, especially those of God’s children who are unborn, disabled or otherwise vulnerable. We get the public officials we deserve. Their virtue–or lack thereof–is a judgment not only on them, but on us. Because of this we urge our fellow citizens to see beyond party politics, to analyze campaign rhetoric critically and to choose their political leaders according to principle, not party affiliation or mere self-interest.

I have much more hope today than I did when I was political. There are other avenues to end abortion and same-sex marriages, but you need to have the faith that God is much better able to deal with these things than we are. I’ve never been more optimistic, but I personally see no end in sight for some time! When people are under the light of the Holy Spirit, they will choose against having an abortion or to act out their SSA. Again, it’s our job to bring more light into the world, and not to engage in political rhetoric.

So…what?
This is not at all the topic of your first post.
Are you optimistic, or saying “what’s the use?”

You original post is really misleading, or you have changed your mind.
I’m out.

Want to end abortion and same-sex marriage? Try shinning the “flashlight” on Satan, who leads us in political circles. Let people see their folly.

Personally, I am beginning to doubt your motives here. If I am wrong please forgive me but are you a Planned Parenthood troll??

No, I just had my fill of political rhetoric that is leading us in circles. I’m just as opposed as you guys are, but I think our effort needs to be re-focus to bringing the Truth to light.

(Your insinuations are most in error.)

  1. It is in full conformity with human nature that there should be juridico-political structures providing all citizens in an ever better fashion and without any discrimination the practical possibility of freely and actively taking part in the establishment of the juridical foundations of the political community and in the direction of public affairs, in fixing the terms of reference of the various public bodies and in the election of political leaders.(5) All citizens, therefore, should be mindful of the right and also the duty to use their free vote to further the common good. What’s the difference between the make-believe of a child and those of the typical adult? ANSWER: Children usually know that they are just pretending! Enough said about the folly of politics.

So the Church is a child?

Outa here
So, do you honestly think abortions and same-sex marriage can be significantly changed with the right politician in the White House? Again, prayer will likely go a long way in correcting evils.

Robert, a lot of people are praying that the Holy Spirit will persuade people like you to go and vote for pro-life politicians…if you and other Catholics who are disappointed with the political process do, then prayers will have been answered

Remember 50% of the political process is getting the right politicians in…the other 50% is having those politicians appoint judges who won’t overturn every pro-life law.

Voting matters

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing

Ok, I’m unsubscribing. You didn’t write a clear post, and you misinterpret the responses.
