Always. My cats are just as much a part of my family as anything.
I also pray for all the poor abandoned and abused pets and the special people who care for them.

@mary15

I have two wonderful kitties, whom I rescued from a local shelter. They are a great blessing to me. The more gregarious one hangs out with me all the time. The other makes periodic visits.

Phoebe is the friendly girl.

Tonks is slightly standoffish.

@Kindnessmatters

Lisa, St. Roche is the patron saint of dogs.

Thank you, for sharing how you pray. We are to be good stewards of the earth and all its creatures. Thank you so much for praying for Gods creation. Bless you.

Thank you…Pebbles is 16 years old…a mini dachshund, so she is permanently a puppy. I was not aware of St. Gertrude but will look her up.

Not sure if this link will work but here is Pebbles. Her main job is keeping my mom company after the loss of my Dad last spring.

@njlisa, thank you for sharing these awsome photos and lovely felines. No doubt they are there when you pray and they are blessed.
@Kindnessmatters Beautiful photos, thanks for sharing them. Pebbles is a blessing from God to give unconditional love and to soothe and comfort your mom. So sorry for your loss. Pebbles is so cute and small, the puuurfect snuggle doggie, am I right?

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Not in my case. I am thankful that the Lord connected me with a very fluffy white feral cat, but I consider that pets are not made in the image and likeness of God.
No, but they give glory to Him and reflect His goodness in creating nature and the world.

My feral cat population seems to have thinned out in recent weeks, and for some reason the other creatures of the forest (we have a forest adjacent to our subdivision) have quit stopping by for dinner. My favorite girl Luna comes every morning and waits for her lunch.

May we realize that as our pets trust us to take care of them, so we should trust You to take care of us, and in taking care of them we share in Your love for all Your creatures. Enlighten our minds to preserve all endangered species so that we may continue to appreciate all of Your creations.

Grant this through Christ our
Lord. Amen.

Hey there lovelyladybug, I found this info online-did you know this about St Francis?

Legend has it that St. Francis of Assisi preached to the birds and other creatures as well as to humans. He is known today as the patron saint of animals and the environment.

Cool!! I knew he was the patron saint of animals but I didn’t know he preached to them. That is interesting!!! 😃 I’ve always been an animal lover and St. Francis is one of my favorite saints. 😃

so very good to hear from you lovelyadybug! Yes, he preached to the animals. That is amazing. Since they are God creations, I wonder if talking to them is talking to God?

Do you say a particular prayer for them?
I would pray that they remain well and safe from harm — our neighborhood cats are ferals and occasionally you will see out on the main road where one of them has been hit and killed. I did also pray that our neighbor’s dog, whom we cared for when his “daddy” was away, would not suffer from his illnesses (he had all kinds of things wrong with him, he was very old) and that he would die peacefully when that time came. He passed away a few weeks ago.

Here are my 2 fur babies 🙂 I pray for them two and my Little Long hair Doxin Tinkerbell whom I lost almost 3 years ago at the age of 15

This is Miss Tinkerbell
I got her when she was 5 weeks old, had her until she was 15 😦

That is amazing. Do you know what kind of animals he preached to? 🙂

I took St.Francis as my confirmation name…we have 2 Basset Hounds…they always lie down by us when we pray…so they get some Holy water on their heads as well…
