St Francis preaching to the birds.
This is one of my favorite images of St. Francis.

Indeed I do! In my garden are two little burial markers belonging to two of my Chihuahuas from long ago…between the markers is a statue of Saint Francis…in a corner is a statue of Our Mother Mary…I pray the Rosary daily in the morning and my beloved pet, Chloe, is always on my lap or beside me…I always pray for her well-being and for thanking God for finding her at the SPCA. She was Blessed by my Priest in October! I love her dearly…

And Wood Stock is asking, “WHO put this bow in my hair?” He doesn’t look happy.

Doxies are cute little dogs. Problem is, they love to dig. If I had one, my flower garden would be continually dug up.

When at home does anyone here include your pets in your prayer time and in your devotional time?
No, he gets enough food and fuss, he doesn’t need prayers too.
Can’t hurt to include pets in your prayers. God created them, too.

Well when I was sat at the kitchen table using my rosary to pray the divine mercy chaplet the cat gave me a heart attack when he assumed it was a new toy for him and jumped at me.

@JanR agree! God created every living thing and He saw that it was good!

My goodness, what do you think St Francis is preaching to the birds? I wonder if he was prcticing his homily?

@Gripper, oh those darn cats! Cant even thread a needle or pray a rosary without them wanting to play! Do you think praying would clm them and soothe them?

Yes, he created all things and he saw that it was good, way back in the book of genesis.

Why not be thankful and prayeful for all of the creatures in our personal spaces.

When yellow jacket bees got caught inside my house and could not get out, i did weep for the ones I could not resucue.

they were crawling around unable to fly due to weakness

I gently let them crawl onto a piece of notebook paper and took them outside.

God loves us, even the least of these as did he not make sure they had enough to eat who were sparrows?
