I have always had some , and I am considering getting some Lourdes water. You can order it from the shrine…You have to pay S&H and buy the container

We keep a font filled just inside the entrance to our home, one in the master bedroom, and one in each of our children’s rooms.

BTW, if you live near Louisville Ky, a local parish, St Louis Bertrand, has Lourdes water. They recently quit shipping it so one has to go to the church to get it.

Prayer to Say When Using Lourdes Water

O Immaculate Virgin of Lourdes, I prostrate myself in spirit at the humble grotto where you once appeared and where you continue to dispense graces and wonders of love. O Inexhaustible Source of Healing Graces, free me from my infirmities. Protect me and keep misfortune from me. Use thy boundless influence to obtain for me patience in my sufferings, restoration to health, and the grace to make good use of my lot in life for the glory of God. Amen. Our Lady of Lourdes, Pray for us.

Nihil Obstat: VERY REV. MSGR. JOSEPH ALLGEIER

Imprimatur: MOST REV. JOHN A. FLOERSCH, D.D.

Yes, we sure do and get our Lourdes’ Water from the Oblate Mission in San Antonio. We donate and they always turn around & send us a small bottle. They have a Lourdes Grotto set up there, but the water in from the Shrine in France. See below.

Also, they send us very beautiful greeting cards that you can send out to any one for any occasion to have a Mass said for who ever.

Check out their site and take the photo tour. 👍

I can’t imagine being without it!

One font just inside the front door and another one at the back.

😃

Yes. And when we run out, I have an advantage, because I can bless some more.
Prayers & blessings

Please tell me how the water is blessed. I think they also use salt in it don’t they? What is the reason for this?

hmm I live very close to there and never knew about it! I wonder if you can get the holy water at the grotto itself? I go past it at least once a week.

Thanks!

No font here…but about 3 or 4 plastic bottles of holy water in different places throughout the house to remind me. I keep one in the car too, so I can use it just before driving while invoking the protection of the Guardian Angels.

My spiritual director blesses the water (and salt) for me using the formula which includes the exorcism of the salt, the exorcism of the water and then the mixing of the two. I find this formula inspiring by all it commands and implores. It seems to spur the imagination on to be more bold … to use it in more ways…

Same here, but it dries up / is used up so quickly! Thank heavens that water (from the local church) is free! 😉

I keep mine in a bottle. I sprinkle it around the house when we have a bad storm…
