Non catholics seem to dominate the 9 gifts of the h.s, do u know any Catholics, who have signs following, mark:16: 15, 20
Really? How so?Non catholics seem to dominate the 9 gifts of the h.s, do u know any Catholics, who have signs following, mark:16: 15, 20
Your verse is about speaking in tongues, snake handling, lay hands on the sick, etc. Yes, there are Catholics who do this. Catholics cast out devils in exorcisms and we lay hands on the sick. The drinking of poison, handling snakes and speaking in tongues aren’t something we do in Mass or that is common.Non catholics seem to dominate the 9 gifts of the h.s, do u know any Catholics, who have signs following, mark:16: 15, 20
There are some Catholics who believe and have done these things around the world such as healing but it is not something that gathers much attention as we tend to be more conservative. We have the Mass, the sacraments and most importantly the Eucharist. I have been to a healing retreat before and the Priest did lay hands and speak about tongues as these things and quoted in this verse. So, it can and should happen and we believe Peter is the first pope and he healed the lame (in Acts) so it can and does happen. Most Catholics are a bit averse to the “holy roller” shakes that you see on the 700 club but in charity and love Jesus did tell us these signs would accompany evangelization per your bible scripture selection. I think all Christians should believe these signs accompany evangelization however the time and place is of God’s choosing not ours. I believe it is to happen in places where the signs are necessary for the conversion of non Christians. I don’t necessarily buy that just because we ask for healing we will be healed and speaking in tongues and snake handling would only manifest themselves if God wanted them to at that particular time for a particular reason such as when the apostles spoke in tongues and others heard them as if they were speaking in their own language. The 700 club (Non catholic) daily has people testimonials, of healings, and prophetic words
I think Catholics would tend to be more cautious about Prophetic Words. The test of a prophecy is whether it comes to pass (Deuteronomy 18:21-22). We would believe in testing the spirits as it says in 1 John 4:1-3 “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they, are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”The 700 club (Non catholic) daily has people testimonials, of healings, and prophetic words

I wanted to clarify my post: if it sounded like I was disparaging this gift, that was not my intent. I think it’s a beautiful gift which the Holy Spirit uses to build up the church. I was just saying discernment in definitely needed here.I think Catholics would tend to be more cautious about Prophetic Words. The church itself would discern this–not the individual.
Being in the Protestant Charismatic movement myself for many years, there seems to be so many who say they have a “word from the Lord.” Do they really? So many believe every “word from the Lord” that they hear. I myself have heard a few “words from the Lord” from various “prophets” that just weren’t true.
Some points, rooted in Mark 16:15-20:Non catholics seem to dominate the 9 gifts of the h.s, do u know any Catholics, who have signs following, mark:16: 15, 20
I know Catholics who can forgive sins, change bread and wine into the body, blood, soul and divinity of our Lord, who can heal the sick, who can join a sinful person to the Body of Christ, who can call upon the Holy Spirit to fill a person, and who can appoint successors to continue the work of the apostles, all in the name of Jesus Christ and that of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Me too… I visit with them weekly.Well said. I know Catholics like that too!~
