So I might can see your teachings and how they taught .

I was brought up Southern Baptist. When I grew up, I attended a variety of churches, mainly different types of Baptist churches. Within the Independent Baptist there are a wide variety of beliefs. I also briefly attended a Pentecostal Church.

I converted to Roman Catholicism last Easter.

Did any of those church teach you bible and biblical principles??

did the manifestation, healings ad the power of God always work in those churches???

Did those churches lay hands on people ?

Did they cast out demons?

was there alway awesome testimonies??

Was people joining the church every time?

The mormon told me also about their watch tower, but does that make people right because they told me something they see right?
I hope you haven’t been studying mormons for 6 years too, cause they don’t publish watchtower, the Jehova Witnesses do.

I corrected this above in another post.
It was an mis print not a misunderstanding.🙂

So , do you know the powers and authority in you??

I know the power and authority through me.

I assure you I would have no power had not God given it to me. Christ himself said to Pilate, you have no power, except that which comes from the Father.

There is no power or authority on this Earth that does not come from God.

I would abuse any power I had, God cannot and will not abuse His own power. I will let Him use me as He wills.

I am answering your questions in order.

Yes, these particular churches taught the bible as they understood it, or according to their individual interpretations. No, I never witnessed healing in these churches. Yes, in Pentecostal churches I have witnessed laying on of hands. I did not see them cast out demons. Yes, the testimonials were moving. And some of the churches had strong growth, others did not.

Evangelist, is English your second language?

If so, you might want to be aware that you should be using the verb “Were” in your last sentence, not “Was.”

“Were people joining the church every time?”

I’m not trying to be critical or nitpicky, but personally it is very difficult for me to take anyone seriously if they can’t even use correct verb tenses. If English is your second language, though, I’m more than willing to cut you some slack - I know how difficult it is to learn another language!

Thanks,

Evangelist…. Quasimodo used your real name of clairmont but you want people here to address you as evangelist. No problem. They probably know you from other forums.
By the same token if you want to be addressed correctly, then I sure everyone here expects you to also use correct terms. You have used “Council of treat” on this forum and other forums. You know by now that it is the “Council of Trent”. Please use it correctly. You may think you are being funny but you are not. You loose credibility when you continually use wrong terms even after being corrected, but yet you expect members here to address you correctly. It ain’t gonna work Evan, E, Evangelist, or clairmont moore

When I was a holiness protestant I thought I possessed God’s power and authority. As a Catholic I’ve learned that God’s power and authority has a hold on me, and the proper response to that is to imitate Christ and do works of charity.

Did any of those church teach you bible and biblical principles??
The Catholic Church teaches the Bible and biblical principles to its members with the full authority given to the apostles by Jesus. Every day (not just Sundays) the congregation hears scripture from the Old Testament, a Psalm, a Gospel and another New Testament book. Then the priest gives a homily which discusses and explains what the scripture meant, how they relate to each other, and how it relates to us today.
did the manifestation, healings ad the power of God always work in those churches???
Catholics go to church to worship God. Not to get healed or do an alter call. The Mass is where we receive the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord. It is where we worship in spirit and truth and we offer up to God a pure offering. The power of God always works in a Catholic Church because Jesus becomes physically present in the Eucharist.
Did those churches lay hands on people ?
Again, for a Catholic, going to Church is about worshipping God. Period. I believe that we have the ability to lay hands on people and pray for God’s healing. I have done it many times. But not in Church, the Mass is not the place for it.
Did they cast out demons?
Not in Church, see above.
was there alway awesome testimonies??
We are given the testimony of Christ while we are in Church.
Was people joining the church every time?
I’m not sure what you mean by this. No, you can’t just “join” spontaneously. You have to be educated on Church teaching and then you can join the Church… by baptism and/or confirmation. It is usually a process that lasts several months because the Church wants to make sure you really understand the teachings before you join.

Just for further clarification, there are many groups of Catholics who do the kinds of things you describe on a regular basis. But not in Church. As you can see, we reserve our worship time to fix our eyes on Jesus in the Sacrifice of the Mass. However, in my Catholic Bible study, we not only learn the Word of God in depth, we also lay hands on the sick, pray to rebuke evil spirits, give awesome praise to the Lord for answered prayers. For example, we praise Him for healing inoperable brain tumors, pancratic cancer, kidney disease, or perhaps when a child who is an athiest suddenly converts to Christ, etc, etc. Not all healings are “successful”, because it is as God wills, not as we will. There are reasons that God allows suffering (definitely a topic for a different thread) and we still praise God. Often the Spirit prays through us in unspeakable words (Rom 8:26) and sometimes we receive the gift of prophecy. I would tell you about mine but I think we are not supposed to talk about private revelations.

Many Catholics do not participate in these sorts of Bible studies or prayer groups. But that does not make them weaker in their faith as you seem to indicate in your previous posts. If a Catholic participates in the Mass, they are participating in the highest prayer and the most awesome, mysterious, and sacred worship possible.

I hope this helps you understand that it is unwise to lump any group of believers into the same spiritual category. We are all on different parts of our journey.

Looking for the sizzle and avoiding the beef.

So are we starting a new topic on a pope which I don’t believe is biblical??

But your correct a pope ritual or tradition is for catholic only and for your memberships to believe.
Even mormons have a president!

So what your point by asking this question?
No, what I’m doing here is demonstrating that your non sequitur about using Wikipedia to argue against religious beliefs actually gives the Catholic Faith more grounds to stand on. The articles from Wikipedia–which could be regarded as a secular source–prove the Catholic Church’s continuity throughout history and its foundation by Christ.

What you have done is to drag out a cannon, pack it with powder and load it, and point it at yourself. All I have to do is strike a match.

Christ said he would found a Church against which the gates of Hell would not prevail. Since the Catholic Church has existed from the time of Christ (as demonstrated by your own secular sources here), I’d say that’s a pretty fair indicator that it has done that. Read Matthew 16:18…Peter has the keys to the kingdom. Church will not fail.

“Well” at least I did my part and proved the bible to be the final authority scripturally.
2 Thessalonians 2-15: “So then brethren, stand firm and hold on to traditions, which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter.” Our Church Fathers received the word by mouth, many which never became part of the written bible. If you hold true to “Sola Scriptura” then the word of mouth is just as important as what was written in the Bible.
