Hi @pianistclare,

Happy Birthday, to you! 💫 💞 🎶

Wishing you all of the best today, on your special day! 🎇 🎈 🎉 🎊 🍰 🍨 🍾 :clinking_glasses:

Wishing you God’s blessings today and always! ❤️

I’ve often thought it would be very coo to get all the CAF musicians together for a big concert…

Happy Birthday pianistclare! 🎁🎈🎉

So after looking on the internet, would it be correct to say that the final note (the one that you said is B6) similar to whistle register? Or it might be something completely different, lol!! I am clueless!

Oh, I have no idea what whistle register is Maybe our friend CL does.

I’m a pianist, I play all dem notes! HAHAHAHAHAHHA 😝

Show off! 😄 Joking! I KNOW you’re a better pianist than I am a violinist.

@dailey31 a B6 isn’t quite the whistle register. Not for most sopranos. This explains it better than I can here:

I can sing in the flute register, but unlike @pianistclare, I can’t hit all the notes! 🙂

Minnie Riperton was famous for being able to enunciate in the flute - or whistle - register.

You’re welcome, I do, too! She was Johnny Mathis’ first choice to record a duet with, rather than Deniece Williams. Sadly, Minnie was already ill with the cancer that would take her life. You can here Minnie’s flute register in the song, “Loving You,” for one.

That song is a favorite of my daughter’s!! She is 9 and loves to sing.🎶 I am so happy that she listens to singers like Minnie, Dolly Parton and Mary Hopkins as opposed to Miley Cyrus and Katie Perry, lol!!😁

Some singers really know how to sing and had beautiful voices. I think Minnie was one of those.

I think Emmylou Harris has a very pure, and unique voice.

For Blues I like Bonnie Raitt.

I loved Bonnie Raitt and Linda Ronstadt
(especially her mariachi album!)

Anyone here listened to Josh Groban’s version of “She Moved Through the Fair?”

I’m not crazy about him but this recording is spectacular!

I really like Josh Groban. I really can’t stand this song no matter who sings it. It is on my list of draggy, boring songs I never want to hear again. Ever.

So, as the saying goes, “there’s no accounting for taste.” 😬
