Do you like where you live?

Yes I like where I live. We’re no more than 10mins away from shopping and such, yet I can whiz off the deck, front porch, or any other part of our property without worrying about if somebody’s looking.
 
Neither of the options is right for me.

:yup: Yes, I like where I live.
:yup: Yes, I want to move somewhere else.

I like my city in Korea. It’s clean, has nice parks, the people are friendly, and I have a great job here.

However, I’ve been here in Korea fore five years, and it’s time to move on. I’d like to live in:

:love: The Philippines, home of sunshine and my boyfriend.
👋 Canada, home of my family and lots of green open spaces.
Somewhere else, to see things I haven’t seen before. :hmmm: Japan? United Arab Emirates? Taiwan? Eastern Europe? Australia? England? Western Europe? South America? The possibilities are endless…
 
Southern Ohio. Yes, I love it. I grew up in northern Ohio, near Lake Erie, and went to college in Northern Indiana, and the winters are actually better here. I’m used to way more snow than we get here.

I love that we live near a large city but not IN it, and I’ve met wonderful people in our neighborhood and area.
 
Small town in Arkansas close to Little Rock. Wonderful Parish, good people, good parish & public schools, low cost of living, low crime, 4 real seasons and 30 min to an hour away from mountains, lakes etc… Can’t really ask for much more.

Richland, WA is great. It’s on the other side of WA (about three to four hours from Seattle) and is a small-town community with enough large city activities thrown in to make life fun. We’ve got four seasons (we’re in the desert side of the state so little rain) and are within a few hours drive from ski mountains, camping, major hiking, etc. It’s great.
 
I’m in between but I picked no. I’d like to live in New Jersey or Charleston SC if I had the option.

However I am learning to like were I am at.
 
I live just outside of Akron, OH and it has it’s pro’s and con’s. It’s nice because we have the best of both worlds. The city life is close by, we’re about 40 minutes from Cleveland. But we also have nice rural countryside about 30 minutes the other direction in Amish country. The cost of living is also very reasonable. Summers are just right, but man they don’t last long enough.

CONS: WINTER. COLD. SNOW. SNOW. MORE SNOW. COLD. SLUSH. ICE. AND IT NEVER SEEMS TO END. :mad:

I would really love to move south. But we have a ton of family here and that’s a hard thing to leave behind. So that’s what keeps us here.

How about we trade? You move South and I move North? I love the snow!! I can’t stand hot summers and they are hot here in NC- let me tell you!
 
I love Indiana and wouldn’t want to live any place else, EXCEPT in the wintertime.

I would like to be able to spend from just after Christmas, until about April around the St. Augustine FL. area.

But I don’t think I could be away from my family for even that long. So I guess I am literally stuck in the snow.
 
Yes and no.

The weather is terrific and perfect. But the area is expensive and it’s not always the safest. Grew up in Alabama, and I did like it. Except for the weather and tornados, I’d move back there. I’ll take my chances with earthquakes here.

I love it here in NC. Always have. Then again, I’m just a narrow-minded racist. :rolleyes: Seriously, though, even though my immediate family doesn’t live here anymore, there’s really nowhere else in the US I’d trade for it. I lived in the Los Angeles area for around 9 years and never really cared much for it. Too crowded for me.

I did say yes but right now I don’t particularly like it at all. Just got power, been out since tuesday with an ice storm. Trees down and a huge mess to clean up. But otherwise I love it here. :rolleyes:
 
I love my city, love my country, HATE the weather. I’m not made for 8 months of winter.
 
I live in Winston-Salem. Really it’s not terrible. I just like Boston Much more- better restaurants- more cosmopolitan. More beautiful churches- less Evangelical Protestants. . .

I don’t even know why they call the season winter here to be honest. . . It feel like a warm autumn.

Plus, the smoking in restaurants is gross.

They all base their list off something different and there are about a dozen top lists from different companies every year. I think my town, Omaha, Nebraska was in one of the top lists last year, something like top places to raise your children, or something.

I can’t say I desire to live somewhere else, but it’s hard to say if the conditions were right that I wouldn’t be outta here. Everyone I know is here and I have a good job and of course since I’ve lived her my whole life, I’m familiar with everything here, so it would be very hard to leave.

This town is a good size, not too big, but big enough so that not everyone knows your business. The people are decent and there seems to be a good balance of Starbucks and McDonalds here. 😉 If you want to take a trip, you’re basically halfway to anywhere, which I guess is ok. If you don’t mind a 10 hour drive, you can shoot out to the Rocky Mountains or Denver, or hit up some big event in Chicago. 3 hours if you really want to go to Kansas City.

That being said. The summers are hot hot hot, the winters are cold cold cold. If you want to get to the beach you better have a little more time than just the weekend. If you want to hit up a theme park you’ll be driving for awhile, unless Go-Karts are your idea of a theme park. There are some days when a sunset walk on the beach would be much better than anything we have here. :cool:

Fellow Omahan here… I agree…Great Schools, fairly conservative government, decent Cultural events, pretty good standard of living compared to most… But we are heavily taxed on property (real estate, auto)… but hey, can’t have everything…👍

Speaking as someone who grew up in Omaha, I have to say that it has gotten way too big for me. I remember when “west Omaha” stopped at about 108th street!

Wow, this is going to be incredibly boring to the rest of the world (LOL), but I live west of Boys Town, remember when that was in the sticks? 🙂
