I find that I can’t concentrate on the Rosary when driving. I also can feel myself becoming drowsy when I try to do it. I have a bad history with that while driving, and do not need to take any chances.
The Colonel has a good point. I used to say the rosary while driving. Problem was it was so peaceful it was almost hypnotic. One time I was saying it and I almost nodded off at the wheel. If you are going to say the Rosary while driving, don’t do it if you feel drowsy, or are in heavy traffic.I attended a funeral of one who had this practice. He was killed in a car accident because he was distracted. The passenger, who was praying with him, survived but with permanent injury. In my opinion, it’s as bad as talking on a cell phone while driving.
Indeed. One hesitates to criticise a saint, but there are photographs of him with the beads in his hand while being interviewed. I don’t see how that is giving full attention to either activity…Padre Pio was famous for saying more than 30 rosaries during the day. I find it hard to believe that he wasn’t partially deviding his attention during one of them.
While he was a bilocating saint, he was also human.
