Do You Stand or Kneel During Adoration?

I’m new to attending Holy Hour and am confused about the beginning …and I’m watching everybody else to see what they do. When the priest approaches the tabernacle to open it, retrieve the host and walk to the monstrance which is on the altar in order to place the host in the monstrance … about half of the people kneel and the other half are standing. Once he arranges the monstrance on the altar, he steps back, genuflects and then incenses the altar and then we sing “O Salutaris” … and we follow a little book with different prayers in it that say (STAND, or KNEEL) next to the various prayers and at the completion of that, the priest withdraws from the sanctuary and the monstrance remains… the rest of the time of Holy Hour is for private reflection where people sit or kneel as they choose in front of the exposition.

So in the beginning … am I supposed to be standing or kneeling? (and why … if anybody knows)… my inclination is to kneel … which is what I do, but I’m wondering if standing is correct? … or why other people may perceive standing is correct vs. kneeling… did they receive teaching that I missed out on? Help.

Stand as the priest enters the Sanctuary, then kneel for the prayers. IF YOU ARE ABLE.
People with age or infirmities sometimes sit, or “half-kneel” sit on the edge of the pew with a knee on the kneeler.

I kneel, from when the priest opens the tabernacle until it is closed again after the blessing.
In the beginning, when the priest enters, the norm is to stand, just like at the beginning of Mass.

if theres no clear consensus among the congregation, do what you feel is most appropriate.

My Priests always tell us to kneel. Once the Eucharist isin the monstrance, and after thePriest has left, people sit or kneel
The Priest returns later for the Benediction and we kneel again

We have a perpetual adoration chapel. During my hour I spend about half on my knees and the other siting. I kneel to pray, (never doing the halfway kneel) and I sit to ready, study, or just to listen.

I stand a little bit and sit the rest - bad knees mean that I cannot kneel.
