Cath13:

.
You are taking my NRA chatroom comment way too “literally”–sort of like believing that the earth was created in 6 “24 hour days”
.
No.

I was taking your comment . . .

.
I feel like I’m in an NRA chatroom
.
. To mean like you really . . .
feel like I’m in an NRA chatroom
And had an understanding of what you were saying.

.
I guess this is my fault.

Thanks for the clarification Cath13. I won’t take your comments “too literally” again.

Your story is a little hollow, all the NRA did was use this black guy (who was living in a living in a black neighborhood) to force a 5-4 Supreme Court decision to keep certain guns, that the local government wanted to prevent, available in Chicago. It would be like if someone did not allow abortion in a certain city or state and had to be taken to court about it. That person’s case would be hailed as a " hero", too. Besides, Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists would have no problem with minorities (using those NRA promoted gun policies) shooting each other–less work for them.
So, I guess you are happy with the bigotry in the Chicago government, since they are quite happy to sit back and watch black men kill each other in the streets, so much so they didn’t want patriotic Americans like MacDonald to defend himself. That must really gall you that this uppity guy would stand up to the Drmocrat drivers in city hall.
He also made it harder for your fascistic anti-gun policies to take place, didn’t he.

Cath13:

.
But if the NRA has no “chatroom”, just find a White Supremacist or Neo-Nazi one, I am sure it is quite similiar.
.
Why do you do this Cath13?

There is no reason to think that the NRA as an organization would be racist. There is no benefit in it for them. They have strong support from gun manufacturers. Those manufacturers are not racists. They want to sell as many guns as they can. They don’t care who buys them.
And I don’t think folks like you who honestly want what you to be greater safeguards are anti-freedom. What I am tired of is people like Cath13 accusing people he doesn’t know as racist simply because they disagree with him. It is the demagoguery of the extreme leftists, and I’m not just deny it, I’m going to call out the liar

I guess he wants me to take his calling me a neo-Nazi and white supremacist figuratively. 😡

accusing people he doesn’t know as racist
Sort of like accusing people who want gun control laws of being anti-gun.
No. No where close. Accusing someone as being a racist whom you do not have evidence of being one is heinous. It is among the worst types of hate speech./ One can be anti-gun and make a reasoned argument to defend that position. There is no reasoned or reasonable argument to defend being racist or bigoted.
The charge of racism is order of magnitude greater than anti-gun. And a false accusation of racism is no better than the racism itself.

if you trust the government and feel safe,
Why would anyone trust the same government that botched the records of the murderer of the church shooting in Texas? That’s why I own firearms.
And it isn’t even a matter of trusting, necessarily. It is often a matter of fact that it takes time for police to arrive, and a criminal isn’t going to wait for them. The SCOTUS has made it clear that we have no expectation of them to arrive.

Agreed. I’m responsible for my family’s safety and I take that seriously.

I’m not calling you a racist, but I’m glad you can see that gun control people can have a reasoned argument for their position
Yes, you did. You called me, an NRA member, a white supremacist and a neo-Nazi. It is a lie. It is a lie to call other NRA members these names unless you have specific evidence. You name names, show the evidence, and I will join you in condemning them. I will join you in condemning Richard Spencer. I will join you in condemning David Duke. But I will not be quiet and let you lie about the NRA and our membership.
Most of the 77% of us who do not own guns support the right of 24% to own one, but it gets quite tiresome and disingenuous to have every suggestion for common sense gun control be treated as a non-starter and those who propose them as anti-gun and hell bent on coming to your house and doing hand-to-hand combat with you to take your firearm away.
It doesn’t matter whether or not you support the right.
There have been countless measures passed over the last few decades. Most of them supported by the NRA and its members. The NICS system, as an example. All we ask is that the measures target the criminals, not the law abiding. For example, the Grassley - Cruz bill, which Democrats opposed.
Don’t target due process. Don’t target the law abiding. Don’t target arms that are not truly assault weapons, not selectable or fully authomatic.
Don’t accuse gun owners who are members of the NRA of not caring when people are killed. That, too, is a lie. And you have repeated it here in other posts.
The fact also remains that organizations such as Brady Campaign and Everytown do want to ban civilian ownership of firearms. Senator Feinstein has said so, as well. If that is not your goal, fine.

Yes, you NRA guys need to take a double dose of that.
So, show me an example of where the NRA has lied. Be specific, because if you can’t, you’re just lying again.
You weren’t able to name someone in the NRA who has indicated they are a white supremacist, or a neo-nazi.

If both of you guys would just stop calling each other names and discuss the issues, your posts would be a lot more interesting to read. These are just boring.

I’ve tried, Leaf. I even mentioned the same thing to him.

I said,

He needs to stop. He has accused me of being a racist, and I won’t stand still for that.

Interesting . . . Hope that burglar you shoot protecting your family doesn’t end up being someone canvasing from the local parish. I’m sure the local police department loves vigilantes like you–big help for them.
You live in an interesting neighborhood, where people canvas for their church late in the evening / early morning, and they enter your home without ringing the doorbell and waiting to be invited inside.

May I ask your general location?

Mistakes can be made at night - even by the police. Just ask the family of Justine Ruszczyk.
