How about an adopted child grows up knowing their parents loved them so much that they were willing to do what was in the child’s best interest and place them with a loving home.

How about an adopted child grows up knowing their parents loved them so much that they were willing to do what was in the child’s best interest and place them with a loving home.

No, I was referring to children who become aware that their parents never wanted children, but are raised by these parents nonetheless. The same could be said of those children who are “oops babies” and are told that they were “oops babies”.

I’m of the opinion that “happy little accidents” are a topic that should be private between two parents, and no one else. I find that listening to others boasting that “our family is complete, we’re done” — I used to hear this when I was working — regardless of the morality of contraception, is just a little gross, a little TMI, and quite frankly, it makes me a tad uncomfortable, and I am not one to be easily affected by other people’s comments.

And what about the blabbermouth aunts at the family reunion who think it’s acceptable to say “you know, your parents told all of us that they were done with having children, and then you came along!”. That, too, is just uncultured and gross.
